What also helps is drawing the background first so the characters colours can be picked more wisely if that makes sense? Honestly for the shading I colour picked from the bg a lot :,D

Thank you!! I just pulled a few references. I’ve been recently studying from „Artists‘ Masters Series - Color and Light“ and I think that helped a lot.
Oh and I tried some new textured brushes :D
