We are looking for a research assistant to join our lab and support ongoing projects with genome engineering in mouse embryonic stem cells! Please get in touch if you are interested. www.fmi.ch/education-ca...

Sharing first data from a project where we try to mimic eu/heterochromatin sorting by liquid phase association, but purely based on synthetic DNA components. Chiara Schmitt (MSc thesis student) and myself recorded this today, I am so excited! Thanks also to Niemeyer lab, great support with this.

So I’ll try something new here and post my thoughts as I read through the review. Sort of a Lennart reacting to / live unboxing thread…

This is a piece that I and @karsten-rippe.bsky.social discussing a lot, and a topic that is very close to my heart. The editors @naturerevgenet.bsky.social gave us the stage to do so, and the final version of our review is now available under this link: rdcu.be/erP1u A short thread follows 1/n

In Beijing, I encountered “Kung-Fu emoji” I *think* it means: I am eager to learn, accepting challenges and critique I respect subject matter experience & authority, and expect constructive interaction How symbolic I had to screenshot in WeChat. My Western Keyboard does not have that symbol 🤷🏼‍♂️

Very smart way to distinguish between eu/heterochromatin for single nucleosome tracking. "Replication-dependent histone labeling dissects the physical properties of euchromatin/heterochromatin in living human cells" From @kazu-maeshima.bsky.social lab www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Super exciting preprint from @dnamystrom.bsky.social @brangwynnelab.bsky.social addressing how the combination of liquid-liquid phase separation in combination with selective chromatin affinity controls shape and interaction with chromatin of nuclear condensates. Very clearly writing, as usual 👏

#NextGenSci asked young scientists to write a rule that all principal investigators should be required to follow to improve the experience of young scientists in their lab. Check out their answers on #NationalHigherEducationDay: scim.ag/45zsFEr
