A lot more pieces on the board than in Priest which I think led to a more interesting story.
Heden felt bland compared to the rest of the cast, especially the titular Aimsley Pinwhistle who was easily the most compelling character.
As unimpressed as I was with Priest, Thief made it worth the read.

Ultimately a pretty standard sport movie but Coogler definitely had a vision for it.
Adonis was unsurprisingly the most interesting character with his struggle to balance legacy with identity and Rocky's arc was functional while leaving a little to be desired.
Basically what I expected going in.

Liandrin can try to get me into pet play as much as she likes but I'm still using her lap to shoot dice with Mat (I'm due!)
(Also I've only read the first 3.5 books)

I feel like having something like a ~66% chance of a random encounter every 10 minutes could lead the game being slower, no?

For being a technically poor film it had no right to be as funny as it was.
The 2 "normal" characters were the least interesting, not straight enough to juxtapose the rest of the cast and not whacky enough to fit in.
Overall bad, but peak. Will be referencing for years to come.

It's genuinely a lot of the same rhetoric that was used trying to keep people of color out of sports

What's there to say about this that hasn't been said already?
It's impressive what was able to be made with what's effectively 5e slop.
The combat's fun, the character's all really good, and story grandiose if not the best.
My biggest issue is that the game's just really horny.
Either way, peak.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one...
Gonna have to let it sit with me for a while, see what I take to, if anything, some real Lord Faisal type shit.
The idea of not fighting nature makes sense enougg, but it mostly read like "the missile knows where it is because it knows where it isn't."

This shit good as hell.
These books are glacially slow buildups to their climaxes but are so much more about the journey than the destination that it works.
You get to really understand the world, knowing what town characters are in by description of shoes or beasts of burden.
It just works.

I voted Paladin
My logic was Barbarian already feels covered by the Sea Wolf and Pit Fighter, Jester I feared would be gimmicky, fun once maybe, but not something I'd want multiple of over the course of a campaign, and Pirate I worried would have it's kit too tied to seafaring to be cool long term.

This will most likely be a contender for my movie of the year
De Niro played both roles shockingly well and it only lead to a few awkwardly shot scenes, even differentiating the characters on screen was surprisingly easy.
The bulk of the film was just really impressive.

The Looney Tunes formula still going strong in 2025.
The movie definitely felt a bit corporate in places and Daffy and Porky being the only real Looney Tunes characters was weird, but there were still some really good bits.
Plus there was a real certified goon in it, we don't get enough goons.
