For a good part of my career, a monthly report detailing what had been done, providing updates from prior month, etc. was required. Took about 4-5 hrs, so ~ 1 per wk. Coworkers & I would joke, "do we put 'worked on this report' on the report? If so, where?" Now we have dashboards.
