Audra McDonald is an incredibly talented, incredibly beautiful woman and I love the train on this but I do have to admit, under no duress, that I kinda prefer this look from the back.
Which, to be fair, is how I'm sure most people prefer me.

That is true of Parvati! I recommend looking up the behind the scenes documentary for the game on YT, there's an interview with her writers and it's very sweet.

She's funny sure but compared to everyone else she's so bland, real shame

Oooh a fellow ZE fan? Good taste. I'm having a similar calling from Hundred Line AND No Sleep For Kaname Date aha. All of my friends are telling me that Hundred Line is a strong contender for RPG of the year which is huge.

Guess it goes to show that good games also need good marketing that aren't comparing x to y constantly.

I think there's a certain amount of irony in that though because OW1's marketing focuses Ellie a lot and I think she's the most boring of the companions -- they couldn't have known that Parvati would be the universally beloved one of course, but it's something I find funny

Honestly the marketing for that game is so terrible because it isn't even remotely trying to be New Vegas 2 if you play and I'm glad the marketing for the sequel is being a bit more self aware lol
But YES there's a reason why Parvati is so memorable as a character even if the rest of the game isn't

Tbh I hope the lesson people take from Clair Obscur is that people want fresh ideas from newer teams -- everything I've seen of Ex33 has been both bizarre and beautiful in ways that harken back to classic Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest and I love that so much I can't wait to play it.

I need to try DOS2 because apparently that's where Larian really shines, esp since there was no mismanagement on the part of WotC.

Like even if that game is a very barebones foundation for the world and systems and story (I am so excited for the sequel to improve on everything) the lack of romance is like. So nice? It means everyone can have balanced discussions about it that aren't just who the best waifu is lol.

I think the insistence on having romances in western RPGs is kind of a detriment because they distract from the main point far too often to the extent that I prefer games without them. I don't mind if they're there but. Y'know.
This is probably why The Outer Worlds was so refreshing to people.

NieR will analyse the human condition in a way that's very fundamental to how I've personally viewed storytelling for years now all because Yoko Taro opposed the invasion of Iraq. And yet because 2B has a boob window suddently its hentai and icky.

BG3's themes about escaping/breaking the cycle of violence aren't even that complicated but people would rather treat it like little more than a glorified dating sim. Even though Japanese games also have mastered that genre. The Otome games won't kill you I promise. You are not above a visual novel.

Okay to be totally fair, BG3 is one of the best RPGs ever made that was just neutered by a lack of backbone from the studio. I'm glad it's kickstarted this desire to have complex western rpgs again but this is the same game where the Wyll situation exists and I'm so tired 💀

deep and a series that utilises sexuality as part of its aesthetics or characters is sooo sad to me because that series overall is excellent.

Persona 3 is so good but it's overshadowed by 5's 100 hours of mediocre and it's so sad. I recommend that one if you haven't, it's a really insightful and nuanced look into the human condition. TWEWY too if you want something different.
And yeah, NieR being obnoxious freak shit because it is both
