πŸ’― I do this so that I don't *accidentally* eat the whole batch at once, AND you get a warm cookie each time! Win-win!

Likely a private contractor who only cares about the section of road they are paid to clear.

I don't really care if she gives me a bad rating as I'm unlikely to ever use VRBO again. The only reason I used it this time is that hotels were double the price because the Habs and Leafs were playing at the Bell Centre. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

So why, then, is there even a 5-pt rating system? To me, 5 is perfect or exceeded expectations. 4 is very good - met expectations. And that's what I gave her. Clearly, my lack of experience with the sharing economy makes me persona non grata in that world. /Rant

Well, today I get a message on the app from the host stating that she gave me 5 stars as a guest because I followed all the rules, and that she was expecting me to also give her a 5-star review because anything lower than 5 was considered "bad." /6

So when I left my review I gave them 4/5 stars for overall, and 5/5 stars for all the other categories (cleanliness, communication, etc.) and explained in my written review how everything was perfect, except the issue with the noise. /5

Well, the two young children who live upstairs ran around and jumped all over the place (as children do) but the noise was really excessive. Thankfully, once they went to bed it was quiet, and I had no issues sleeping. But during the day... Holy hell! /4

The listing mentioned that there would be "noise between 8AM and 9PM associated with the activities of family living, and that ear plugs were provided if I needed them." I bet you can tell where this is going... 3/

I rarely use app-based services like Uber/Lyft, delivery apps, or AirBnB/VRBO. This past weekend, I used VRBO to book a 3-night stay in someone's basement suite. 2/

It's the first deli I remember going to as a child. We lived around the corner until I was 6. My second favourite deli, Ben's, is long gone.

I grew up here, and a LOT has changed in the last 40 years. πŸ˜‚ My trip this time is more family oriented. But I still love checking out the SAQ for wines the LCBO won't allow us to have.
