Just because it can get confusing, LAPD (Los Angeles PD) are the police force for Los Angeles City. That's where their jurisdiction ends. LA Sheriffs work in LA County. Some cities in LAC have their own police depts. Some cities, like Paramount, do not. They contract with LAS for police protection.
