well it has certainly been an amusing prank to let the worst people alive take over the american government for a few weeks, but I think it's probably gone on long enough

Listen to Secretary Pete. And remember, these are our funds. These are our courts. And these are our streets.

Does “Golden Age” refer to a time when planes keep crashing, eggs cost $10–15 a dozen, the U.S. is being booed and protested by all our allies, workers are losing their jobs, and Americans’ personal data is being rummaged through by unelected oligarchs and their strange crew of 20-something incels?

@mikiesherrill.bsky.social , @andykimnj.bsky.social , @booker.senate.gov New Jersey needs you to stand up like this.

It’s pretty insane that a private citizen can come in, hijack federal government servers, fire people, and steal their PII.

Every time I remember Stephen Miller designed this rush of orders to burn me out specifically I get a new burst of energy from the spite alone. The very thought of my exhaustion giving him an ounce of joy makes me want to burst through walls

This is it.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Jim Acosta announces on air that he's leaving CNN and says, "it is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant ... don't give in to the lies."

Excellent post

Exactly what I've been saying. No appeasement--total opposition.

Regulations exist to protect what cannot protect itself!

If anyone is playing Orwellian bingo at home, this is the part in Animal Farm where the pigs change the rules and act like they have always been that way.

We are reviewing the President’s Executive Order on birthright citizenship. Make no mistake, birthright citizenship is enshrined in the Constitution, and we will stand up for the rule of law. Stay tuned.

I can’t love this more.

So glad to see @jamellebouie.net debunking this ridiculous stance. No, it is NOT cost effective to order food every day. It just is not. And that's not a generational prejudice. It's just basic facts (which my millennial kids know, too.)

Sen. Patty Murray, Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee:   "I'm ready to stay here through Christmas because we're not going to let Elon Musk run the government. Put simply, we should not let an unelected billionaire rip away research for pediatric cancer so he can get a tax cut."

Read this read this read this! A lovely, luminescent, piece of writing.

just blurted out in class "yes, you have to cite where you got your info. in a world in which lying loudly is the only thing that seems to get rewarded, citing your sources is an act of resistance" and folks, I really believe that.

The federal government spending money on pediatric cancer research is good, actually.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

Trump invented a gov't agency to destroy gov't agencies to prevent working-class taxpayers from accessing gov't subsidies. Who'd he put in charge? A billionaire who built his fortune on gov't subsidies, of course. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Trump is unfit for office! *Source in 'ALT'

This is what's so baffling about so many suggestions for AI in the humanities classroom: they mistake the product for the point. Writing outlines and essays is important not because you need to make outlines and essays but because that's how you learn to think with/through complex ideas.
