Wow. What a sign that criminal case against Abrego Garcia may be politically cooked up. "Schrader’s resignation was prompted by concerns that the case was being pursued for political reasons" Schrader spent 15 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Nashville and was chief of the criminal division

Since the AG doesn't seem to be getting ethics guidance from her team these days, I wanted to make sure she has the rule in the Justice Manual in front of her, which expressly prohibits this.

Thinking of a hero I knew and admired.

DOJ as we have known it, as a place where prosecutors from the AG on down do the right thing, for the right reason, in the right way, is over.

Maddow: I think we both have the same instinct: quote the ruling, quote the deposition—show the document. The audience is smart and capable of taking in primary source material. We can give it to them straight and then talk about it from there—based on this kind of non-pasteurized document

Bringing Abrego Garcia back to face charges is the trump regime’s way to save face and avoid embarrassing discovery in court - including maybe having to disclose their agreement with Bukele. IMO.

🚨NEW: @cbsnews.com reports ICE is arresting people who can't even legally be deported and holding them without enough food or water in a federal building BASEMENT in Los Angeles. Families dutifully attending check-ins with ICE are being arrested and held for days, forced to sleep on the floor.

#BREAKING: #SCOTUS *also* grants the Trump administration's request to pause discovery in CREW's effort to challenge the structure (and identify the leadership) of DOGE, again over public dissents from the three Democratic appointees: www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...

Trump pardoned this drug dealer and now he’s making him the head of prisons. No. Really 👇👇 www.nbcnews.com/politics/pol...

Starting to really regret my DOGE tattoo

Before anyone gets too excited about this, see below. Elon is not on our side. He’s on Elon’s side. Which means they’re going to get back together. & what important developments will we have missed in the meantime? Ukraine? ICE detaining kids? The budget passing?

"We cannot build bananas in America" is an all timer

From @nytopinion.nytimes.com “Too many Christians are transforming Christianity into a vertical faith, one that focuses on your personal relationship with God at the expense of the horizontal relationship you have with your neighbors,” writes our columnist David French.

This is what Joni Ernst wants.

The stupidest timeline somehow keeps getting stupider.

A Karen I’m in love with 👍🏻👍🏻👏👏 👇👇👇👇

This guy Lutnick is an SNL sketch every time he speaks. Really a buffoon

I just want to say that the DoJ attorneys handling the DOGE cases deserve every bit of how humiliating this is going to be. I hope they suffer.

This is a great development

We got the job done this budget for the future of Illinois. Like the families who need high-quality childcare and pre-k, workers who want to go back to school, and Main Streets who are being revitalized by our grants. Those are the folks that our budget is for.

Please bring this back to the White House.

Sen. Susan Collins is concerned about several provisions in the White House’s $9.4 billion rescission package. “The PEPFAR cuts make no sense to me whatsoever, given the extraordinary record of PEPFAR in saving lives,” Collins tells @frankthorp.bsky.social. “So I have a lot of concerns.”

On June 4, President Trump issued an executive order which seeks to restrict the entry of foreigners who are entering the U.S. to attend classes at Harvard. Read the EO, from Katherine Pompilio. www.lawfaremedia.org/article/trum...

Harvard isn’t violating a law. They’re just killing, you know, the vibe. (The vibe is state-imposed ideology on higher ed.)

Stephen Miller is privately raging over deportation numbers he deems too low. So he's shifting huge amounts of law enforcement resources away from fighting serious crimes and into his immigration crackdown. If voters knew about this, they'd recoil. 1/ (new piece) newrepublic.com/article/1961...

HAWLEY: Let's see the Trump chart. You don't think it's a little bit anomalous that Trump has so many more nationwide injunctions against him? KATE SHAW: A very plausible explanation you have to consider is that he's engaged in much more lawless activity than other presidents

I've seen folks talk about how "in four years" they'll be able to get back to their planned projects and I really don't think that's going to work out. People & projects losing funding now will not be able to hit pause and come back once funding is restored. Hard-won progress & capacity will be lost

I have resigned as Executive Director of the Skadden Foundation. This moment in history calls on us to provide more and better support for public interest lawyers. I look forward to finding other ways to contribute to their vital work.
