Although strawpage is meant to be anonymous, I had asked this question, so don’t apologise I enjoyed this thread! I do feel ‘Thomas and His Friends’ falls flat, so I’m happy to see a refreshing take on the change that feels faithful to Gordon and puts Pip & Emma in the limelight that they deserve.

Of course it wouldn’t be 1-to-1 since Durham can handle express trains and I feel the viaduct would be significantly lower, but I feel it’s a good inspiration for a ‘cathedral city’ that Suddery is.

For the longest time I honestly thought the joke was thatSir Handel was blunt with Gordon about being on time, because Gordon asked to have a chat sometime 😭

I feel it slightly has to do with the narration (using the UK dub here) but it seems a bit indistinct who’s talking at times (mainly at ‘we must have a chat’), as well as the facial expressions on Gordon not really matching Sir Handels constant chattiness towards the end.
