And orthostatic intolerance means to my body doesn't like being upright and gives me symptoms like a super high heart rate and sometimes fainting for no good reason other than, "You are not lying down, and I don't particularly like that."

So a more specific way to say what I said in the first post is that I have heat intolerance issues which make my other symptoms worse, and those base symptoms are likely due to orthostatic intolerance.

Cold intolerance? I also lean that way, my body just has poor temperature regulation in general - I'm just much more prone to have symptoms that lead to fainting when it's super hot than when it's super cold. Cold can also be miserable if your body doesn't like it though, I'm so sorry!

* I recognize it's not just my brain. It's also a LOT of cultural and social mess around Pushing Through and Doing Your Best and Not Slacking and an overdependence on needing Permission to take care of oneself.

Sometimes it's both at once, but I *think* when it's just one it's usually this one.

See, this is why I was annoyed at my cardiologist saying not to worry about my high RHR. I hang out at 100+ while sitting at my computer watching Youtube. I really don't think that's ideal.

Thank you, my coworker and I did all we could. It's such a heartbreaking thing for the owner of a loved pet to have to do.

No problem! I was curious too and had meant to ask about that. I 100% trust our vets, and also I'm a curious person. 🙂 I think the only thing is he wants cuddles, and we're obviously not allowed to actually pick him up or hold him bc of his legs. He can still have pets, though!

*I thought we had this baby in as a she, but I checked again and baby is a he. He is mobile, and acting like a perfectly healthy kitten. The vets are keeping an eye on him, but apparently due to the specifics of his injuries splinting/casting is actually contraindicated at this time.

The vets are keeping a close eye on him, including radiographs, but it's my understanding that due to the specifics of the injuries, splinting is actually contraindicated at this time. I'm not veterinary trained enough to get deep into it though! He is mobile, and legit acts just fine.

What a gorgeous coat pattern! I'm glad he was able to land safely with you, looks like he's doing quite well for himself now. 🙂

*Idk why I said she was 4 weeks old in the alt text; she was around 2m old!

Your periodic reminder that while I stay very well informed (probably better than I need to be, ngl), I made a conscious decision that this BlueSky account is about the animals I help in my local community. That's also very much NOT telling anyone else what to post or not post!

We have at least one witchy shop nearish us that I've been meaning to check out for a while. Probably at some point when it's not kitten season and I have more time and energy on my days off, lol.

I used to go to the MN Ren Faire every year when I lived there, and a bunch of my friends worked or volunteered at it. ❤️ I'm so sorry if you lose the one near you!

I'm fine, and hopefully he will be as well. He had what looked like a series of burst abscesses up and down one leg. 😕 Intake and clinics were both slammed today and I didn't get a chance to follow up and ask how he was doing at the end of the day. If nothing else, he'll be on pain meds at least. ❤️

My ADHD ass caught him just fine, minimal stress and gently, and got him covered with a towel right away...then could not for the life of me remember how to get him OUT of the net without losing him and had to ask a coworker - that part I can absolutely laugh about.

As much as they cause destruction when they get loose, it always breaks my heart to see it, because I know they're rocketing around like that because they're terrified. ❤️

Thank you, he really is! I accidentally got some all over my fingers today and he licked it off without any hesitation. 🙂

I only got my license a couple years late at 17/18, BUT I've always lived places with garbage public transportation so it was that or be trapped at home. I'll still ask my partner to drive us if he's available on my days off tbh. I only enjoy driving if it's empty country roads.

If you feed on a schedule to avoid wildlife that actually helps since when it works you shouldn't have to leave the trap baited all night. It's just a thought though!

Sometimes trap training can help for hard to catch kitties, if you haven't tried that. You can search online for specifics, but it's a process of getting kitty used to the trap with it secured open, and only setting it when kitty is willing to walk all the way in.

The Community Cats Podcast, @alleycatallies.bsky.social Alley Cat Allies, and Neighborhood Cats are all some great online resources.

Worst case, you can try a GoFundMe and see if any vet clinic will work with you on lower fees for community cats. Again, I also recognize some places are not helpful with not many options. All I ever mean is to do the best you can, and try asking for help. ❤️

A lot of shelters and low cost clinics have TNR programs or know how to get you in touch with one. Searching online can also find you resources and connections. I know some places are less serviced than others, or don't TNR. But sometimes you just have to keep looking for help.

This comment was so good for my heart, ty. And I'm going to remember it next time I have a situation like that. ❤️

We had one come in with over a dozen kittens today. Intaking the kittens was contingent on her agreeing to work with us on TNR. Otherwise it's just another ongoing kitten factory.

Congrats! I could never figure out why driving scared me so much, it was kind of a relief to realize it was the ADHD. If it's heavy traffic there's just too much happening at once and my focus explodes.

Honestly the entire thing is the point so you're fine. 🙂 I'm also excited he's taking the treat without the holder since he specifically hates hands.
