Delighted to open the Climate Innovation Forum 2025. Our Green Finance Fund has already approved over £300 million in low-cost loans, enabling projects that will lead to a reduction in emissions equivalent to taking 31,000 cars off the road. Today it opens for a fifth round.

For those with a hangover from yesterday's Hannan Day celebrations. Good Morning.

Nigel Farage looking deeply unamused as Angela Rayner accuses him of offering "billions more in unfunded tax cuts for the very richest while he marches to the lobby in the House of Commons to vote against higher pay for the lowest earners"

This is oligarchy. This is obscene. While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%. End this oligarchy.

A win! Thank you to everyone who spoke out! After facing bipartisan resistance, the Senate Parliamentarian, ruled that Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell off millions of acres of federal land cannot be included under reconciliation rules.

A little bet on AOC to be the Democratic nominee for 2028.....

Hackney have worked for years to be the best place in London to cycle (&just behind Cambridge nationally) The schemes coming this year will boost us further... Whiston Road, Hoxton, Dalston, Q'bridge Road + and more 👏 More to do but we also celebrate the successes 🎉 @sarahwoodberrydown.bsky.social

Today I cycled a 6 mile round trip from West Hoxton to Hackney Round Chapel & back with my son (+ a Cello!). The *entire route* was LTNs or safe tracks & *every* major road crossing was safe. This is what healthy neighbourhoods look like. 👏 @hackneycouncil.bsky.social @sarahwoodberrydown.bsky.social

Voters who have deserted Labour since the election are much more likely to vote Green or Lib Dems, than Reform, new YouGov polling finds. Green and Lib Dem defectors are also much more likely to consider switching back than Reform voters who overwhelmingly say they're committed to Farage's party

Zohran’s results so far just show how tired Americans are of the status quo, how we need creative, people-first campaigning and governance, and why positive, progressive politics are the future. Hate to get ahead of myself before results are called but I’m so freakin happy right now.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done. My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it. I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Journalists at the Farage press conference repeating Reform's framing of this policy as "robin hood" because the non-dom fee will be redistributed to poorer workers, whilst missing the fact that it hands tens of billions of pounds in tax cuts to the wealthiest people already living in the UK

Some good news. Transport for London today: TfL has increased its area of wildflower verges by 130,000m2, putting it on track to reach a total of 520,000m2 by 2026 And as part of London Climate Action Week, 12,000 packets of wildflower seeds have been given away to encourage people to get planting.

Reform UK is proposing a "Britannia card" that would let wealthy foreigners pay a £250k fee to move to the UK, and live here exempt from all tax on their foreign assets What they don't say: it would cost the UK £34bn Report here, and thread below: buff.ly/gpe2Dpf

It would be nice if the number of news stories of ebike collisions was reported proportionally to stories of people killed or injured cars. The rise of mega-SUVs and pickup trucks is a huge danger to pedestrians, cyclists and other car drivers #BBC @londoncycling.bsky.social

40% of all corporation tax owed by small businesses isn't paid. How has this happened, without anyone noticing or caring? Because nobody wants to talk about it. These reactions to the latest HMRC tax gap figures are typical:

I’m proud of everything London has achieved in leading the way on climate action—from being the first global city to declare a climate emergency to creating the world’s largest clean air zone. Let’s keep working together to build a greener future for everyone 🌳 #LCAW2025

Unhelpfully framed article for the Guardian on cycling accidents. Yes cyclists running red lights is not acceptable, but it is dangerously driven cars, and the rise of SUVs, that causes the vast majority of cycling deaths and injuries. www.theguardian.com/news/2025/ju... @londoncycling.bsky.social

An interesting rebuttal from Better Streets for West Dulwich. The dodgy dossier used by WDAG to persuade a sympathetic judge to rip out a successful LTN is amateurish & full of errors. Why should Councils have to answer every ignorant submission individually? docs.google.com/document/d/1...

There may come a day when the BBC puts on air one of the other 29,999 headteachers currently estimated to be working in UK schools, but that day is not today

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Congress members have a legal right to conduct oversight at ICE facilities. This is the regime hiding its blatant abuses.
