We aren’t all farmers…

Political liberalism has a lot of flaws but one of the cool things about it is how it's constructed around the insight that monarchy is a fundamental affront to human dignity 👍

from “Parable of the Talents” by Octavia Butler

Happy Black History month. A few years ago I converted from Roman Catholic to Episcopal, and shortly after learned about Absalom Jones, an important figure in the Episcopal church www.aecst.org/ajones.htm

We could’ve had this nationwide.

I'm late on this but finally started watching Bridgerton. Creative Black History Month, Shonda Rhimes can do basically everything. www.shondalandmedia.com/about-shonda/

Thoughtful Black History Month. Have you heard about Contraband Camp with Michael Harriot? You should check it out www.contrabandcamp.com/t

Happy (yes happy) Black History Month! Having an amazing dinner at Urban in Kansas City, and then going to see Ella & Louis, a tribute show to those two amazing singers, at Musical Theater Heritage. Exciting date night!

Hope everyone is having a determined black history month. Do you like podcasts and having rights? Check out Imani Gandy and the Boom Lawyered podcast. rewirenewsgroup.com/boom-lawyered/

"Happy" doesn't seem like the right word and it's tripped me up for a few days. So, I'm having a defiant black history month. I heard NASA is scrubbing mentions of black women from their website, so it's a good time to learn about en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mae_Jem...

In its simplest terms, the apparent demise of #USAID is the result of the world's richest man ending a program that helps millions of poor people. You don't need a Ph.D. in moral theology to see why this is an evil. You can just read Jesus's parables on the rich and the poor.

Happy Black History Month! If you have not read Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler, I highly recommend them. www.axios.com/2025/02/01/o...

MO has three cities with higher crime rates: StL, KC, and Springfield. KC and StL have Black Mayors and a large Black population. Springfield has a White mayor and a large White population. The state has taken over the police department in KC and is trying in StL. No talk of Springfield. Weird.

Just saw three #ICE officers on Carnes and SW Blvd in #kansascity MO. Noon Wednesday Jan 29

Crochet feels like magic because at the end I'm like, "I had a crooked stick and a ball of string and now I have this article of clothing."😏

Where I live we used to set trash bags out on the curb for pick up. Recently the city finally issued us barrels. But somehow there's more garbage on the street on trash day than there was before? The things I've had to fish out of my dog's mouth 😔

This is my friend Edgar Allen. Getting back into embroidery after a long time away from it.
