I wonder if there might be a tiny silver lining (just sliver) if they allow methadone for OUD to be prescribed in office based settings. But, then again, who will be there to write new rules and safeguard folks seeking addiction treatment from getting defrauded by non-evidence based programs?

Talk about waste of resources- 2 guards/24 hours per day for one non-violent offender who is tethered to a chest tube suctioning out fluid.... d/c to jail where they "don't do MAT"- she will go into withdrawal while in jail and repeat the cycle of drug use at release in 2 d to quell withdrawal

As a physician scientist doing T3-T4 translational science, it would be hard to relocate to another country. As a leader, my main focus is on my faculty and staff- making sure we have the infrastructure and environment to support the work.

That is horrible. Such important work. Senseless cancellation of grants. Can you fight it?

Wish I had seen that. And also that they might have posted earlier in the evening that it was about to go down. I would have downloaded the grants to review and the templates to fill out for each one!

Thatâs what I get for doing grant reviews on the Saturday night before they are dueâŚ.

I have no idea if what we did was correct, but we just submitted a required PEDP for an addiction research training that talked about merit based recruitment and doing community based research with a community advisory board. No use of any of the forbidden terms.

No apologies needed. Appreciate the critique and bringing in different view points. Feel free to suggest another read.

Thanks for your thoughts. I will reread with your view. Perhaps my own biases make me blind to the deficiencies.

We are submitting NIH grants to continue our scientific research without stopping. Believing that the mission will survive

I was trying to explain how SSRI worked to a depressed (now improved) patient yesterday and realized that I have only the very rudimentary understanding of how the brain works. Keep up the good work and make sure to educate us all on this topic.
