Proposed cuts to the NOAA, whose weather and climate research touches almost every facet of American life, are targeting a 57-year-old partnership between Princeton U. and the U.S. government that produces what many consider the world’s most advanced climate modeling and forecasting systems.

Someone should go put them up there (or do a protest with them), along with the worst of the Jan6ers.

We built a team to represent a coalition of unions, non-profits, & local governments in the largest lawsuit challenging Trump’s authority to remake the government without congressional approval. Trump's efforts to dismantle the federal government are unconstitutional and we will see him in court.

But it’s definitely just an advisory entity www.lawfaremedia.org/article/on-d...

NEW: Republicans consider unraveling a key part of Obamacare in Trump agenda bill House chairman overseeing health policy says they're looking at unwinding the federal promise to cover 90% of the ACA’s Medicaid expansion (ie FMAP). BFD, if it happens 👇 www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...

Given that there is no civil disorder, insurrection or armed rebellion at present, senior military leaders need to consult with their JAG officers *now* about the potential need to disobey unlawful orders. They should also consult with Democrats on the House and Senate Armed Services Committees.

Here it comes.

It's almost as if they have a bunch of clowns with zero management experience trying to run things.

We knew the COVID pandemic changed things, but we did not know the role of the tech mogul/right-wing propagandist/journalist encrypted and often disappearing-message group chats in those changes. Until now. Worth reading to understand better how we got here: www.semafor.com/article/04/2...

EXCLUSIVE: Two DOGE employees have access to a network used to transmit classified nuclear weapons data and a separate network used by the Department of Defense, sources tell NPR.

Literally calling for anyone opposing resegregation to be met with state violence.

The Secretary of Agriculture announced yesterday that the Admin is about to ask Congress for hundreds of billions to bail out farmers because of Trump’s tariffs.

This is the Hegseth vision. More civilian deaths at US hands.

Crap you might pitch but don’t because my #stl shop buys: Cereal premiums & boxes, 1960 - 1984. Nestle Quik cans, 1962 - 1989. Candy boxes you might be storing other crap in, 1950 - 1986. That Stan Musial & Biggies spoon or ashtray, maybe you stole it, maybe it fell in your bag, we don’t snitch 💵

The media is not talking enough about this: In a powerful moment, Cory Booker handed the mic to a mom who relies on Medicaid for her son’s survival. As a parent this rips at my core and MAGA wants this cut.

Jeffries: These extremists want to take healthcare away from the American people, and they know their constituents aren’t here for it, which is why Republicans have been on the run during the last two weeks..

I actually really like this messaging from McBride, making attacks on trans people a healthcare issue and tying it to attacks on Medicare & Medicaid

Rev Barber has been a leader in the struggle for democracy since long before Indivisible formed. Was honored to have him open up the D.C. Hands Off rally with 100k people earlier this month. When he speaks, we listen - his moral leadership is an inspiration.

April 28th is the day we remember workers injured and killed on the job. They don't teach us the monumental stories of resistance and organizing to make workplaces safer. This is my reflection on the origins of April 28th and the miners of the north who made history. substack.com/home/post/p-...

Oof.

Not a moment of peace for Republicans -- say it @jbpritzker.bsky.social!!

Pritzker: Time to stop wondering if you can trust the nuclear codes to people who don’t know how to organize a group chat. It’s time to stop ignoring the hypocrisy in wearing a big gold cross while announcing the defunding of children’s cancer research…

I predicted Harmeet Dhillon would destroy the DOJ's Civil Rights Division and reverse years and years of progress. "The division changed mission statements across its sections to focus less on racial discrimination and more on fighting diversity initiatives and anti-Christian bias."

This is just wild on how The Atlantic interviewed Trump. I mean, does anyone pick up unknown numbers anymore *other* than the President of the United States?

Wow. Leavitt is saying here that any judge -- including any SCOTUS justice -- "who is breaking the law or obstructing federal law enforcement officials from doing their jobs is putting theirselves [sic] of being prosecuted, absolutely" What they consider "obstructing?" Probably court orders.

Good grief. Hawley's "populism" is pure, opportunistic performance and relies entirely on the rest of his party's unwillingness to adopt any of his actual proposals, none of which are written into bills that are actually intended to pass.

ACTION: Lawyers across the country are taking part in #LawDay on May 1st to speak out, stand together, and publicly renew their commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law. Rep. Gerry Connolly is stepping down from the Oversight committee because his cancer has returned. Three months ago, Nancy Pelosi whipped the votes for Connolly to receive the Democratic leadership position over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez citing his seniority.

Over at The Verge I wrote about how Brendan Carr has transformed our top media and telecom regulator into a dangerous, incoherent, grievance-fueled censorship and harassment machine:

The Trump administration is flooding the zone with national crises. But don’t let that distract you from one of the president’s key goals: to enrich himself and his friends. Read more in my latest for @nytopinion.nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/04/27/o...

Doge is costing money now.

“After Donald Trump won in November, I sat down to read all 922 pages of Project 2025,” @dgraham.bsky.social writes in The Atlantic Daily. “What I discovered was more radical and more interesting than I’d expected.”

“Never before in my life have I called for mass disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,” Democratic Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said. This did not sit well in Trumpworld.

Document posted by National Science Foundation program director on LinkedIn says not only that grants are being terminated by DOGE but that they're being deleted from databases. Presumably to make it difficult or even impossible to undo DOGE's illegal actions.
