They’re getting their blue sheen in but it’s impossible to capture it on camera

Didn’t realize they actually did try till I saw they were labeled with possible gender. So supposedly, there are 5 female haps and one male which is what I was hoping for

For all I know, there was probably already something wrong with the fish and it triggered their instinct to take him out to the save the rest of the school. Def not the first time I’ve seen it happen

It was kind of funny because the snails started hiding on the waterline, stuck to some floating leaves, and it was actually working for a while
…and then the cichlids figured out where they went

The hardest part is praying they stay still lmao

I never knew what the little white fast moving dots were until today (copepods) and apparently all the cichlids love those things. Theyre scouring every nook and cranny for those things

Hopefully, it’ll just be like the irl Josh fight which had no casualties 🤣

Can’t wait for the deep water haps on Tuesday! They’ll be the same size and shape probably wont show much color yet besides silver, but when they get older some of the males will turn into a powdery blue/turquoise

All male high stock set ups are hard to do, high potential for rehomes/casualties, and you don’t really see the fish do much except swim around because there so dang many around them. Which yeah, that’s less aggression, but at what cost lol
Colonies (something new I read) are WAY more interesting
