I was just on your site last week! I honestly hope you never update the look of it. I love that old early internet charm.

I figured this would be the reason.
It is still mind boggling to be judged by others who know nothing of what they’re judging.
I’ve been a competition judge for 12+ years and I’ve had people judging alongside me who had no bg in costumes, and picked winners based on how attractive they were.

Hoooow?? Did they not ask for progress pictures or how it was made? Since when did Lelouch become Star Wars.

Not a problem! That is a good resource and especially helpful to those getting into dying fabric.

I hate to admit that I’ve been making costumes for far longer than that.. just the term cosplay wasn’t known back then. Early 90s I remember very clearly making Disney princesses and a Mickey Mouse mascot

Even the wig was dyed with a hint of green to neutralize the saturation of it. Like I said dye wise.. this costume was a nightmare.

I’ve dyed a lot of fabrics and wigs in the past, but I just really don’t like to do it.
Color matching is not an issue for me, it’s just the process I don’t enjoy. I will do it if I absolutely have no choice.

Thanks. I know how to dye fabric, I just don’t like doing it.

yup, it basically goes for all colors, but I was so frustrated shopping for any blues this year.

yeah but it's just such a process lol. I had my share of being burnt out from dying fabric a few years back.

Yup, pretty much every color is in need of more options. I just had a big struggle with blues earlier this year that I started to really notice this pattern. There were way more color options in the past.

The options are so bad

I honestly wish I see this color more.

💚💚💚 what, how can I be the inspiration when you were always mine!! I can’t wait to see your art again. I miss it. So happy you are going to get back into it.

I love this idea and would love to participate.
I have a bunch of the 4koma books and they were my favorites to look at.

Oh hey! My art. I wondered what was going on with this project.

I try but hard to do both.

Leaving too much time in between is what causes struggle to get back into it. I thought of making it monthly, but costumes can take over a month, switching weekly is also difficult.

.. I think I just realized it’s 3 years old.. I thought it was older

For the most part I just struggled with that background. Since then I learned how to paint rocks, clouds and foliage so much better. I would also cel shade Link and Zelda instead of rendering. My style now is like that of an animation still. This feels more like a concept art than that.

I haven’t tried any others, I’ll check it out.
The thing I like about this one is there are pictures for pretty much every recipe, I find that super helpful to know what the meal is supposed to look like. Definitely recommend it.
