The masculine energy America needs

I live following people on here bc of their wbb takes and then finding out we align on so many other issues 🖤

Your periodic reminder that, 150 years ago, a desire to read fiction was considered both a sign of mental illness in women and a symptom of it. The groups devoted to banning some books because they're "immoral", "obscene", etc. are just growths from the same bad root.

The reply email inbox for this “what did you do last week” email is [email protected], so, you know, definitely don’t send them any unrelated messages that would interfere with their ability to carry out Elon’s dumbass bullshit

Unrivaled refs are annoying. Let em play cone on

I follow French politics a lot, as many of you know. Any effort for mass layoffs of public sector employees there would create such huge strikes and marches, the level of disruption and paralysis would be biblical.

10% of NASA’s workforce has been laid off—guess that’ll be a boost for SpaceX.

I’m questioning some of the ref calls on this Iowa osu game…

🚨🟢 Hamas issues statement on Israel’s drone attack that killed three Palestinian policemen in southern Gaza while securing aid delivery, calling it a “serious violation of the ceasefire.” Full statement: 🔽

⭕️ BREAKING: Gaza’s Ministry of Interior and National Security reports an Israeli strike targeted a police unit in the Al-Shouka region, east of Rafah, this morning. Two officers were killed, and a third was seriously injured, while securing aid delivery.

Working in a city-planning adjacent, profession i’ve known for years that “streamlining” is just a word for bypassing/ignoring public/community input and benefit.

Decades ago, San Francisco sold a huge land parcel to the Safeway corporation in a sweetheart deal. Safeway may now make millions selling off the land, with seemingly little regard for the community it served. This behavior isn't new. via @miss-elenius.bsky.social missionlocal.org/2025/02/sf-s...

I love women’s basketball

One more rant. I don’t appreciate this current narrative that some dems/libs/leftists were ignoring signs that trump is dangerous leading up to the election. I don’t know anybody who thought that. Where is this coming from? If anything, dems needed to expand beyond that message to win.

1 i read about this in a print newspaper this morning 2 the contradiction in this messaging is that Dems will care, but only if we tailor the message to law enforcement. It’s fine if they don’t care about admins, analysts, or any of the other people who are also being indiscriminately fired.

“This is to provide notification that I am removing you from your position of [Job Title]... Unfortunately, the Agency finds that that [sic] you are not fit for continued employment because your ability, knowledge and skills do not fit the Agency’s current needs.”

See? Journalism! But if it doesn’t specifically target vets do we even care? I’m not liking the Dem messaging out there at all. Feels like two steps back.

I just want to point out that selling a company's real estate, then renting it back to them, is a common tactic of private equity.

"The Israelis shot and killed an innocent young woman and then caused the death of her unborn baby, too. Shocking, right? Depraved? Murderous? And yet, as of Monday morning, there was no mention of Sundus Shalabi on...the New York Times or the BBC" - me, for Zeteo:

Everything spinning out of control. Feels overwhelming and scary. All i can do is read romance novels.

The wreckage of a small plane that went missing in the US state of Alaska with 10 people on board has been found with no survivors, authorities have said ⤵️ aje.io/qfig3b

This isn’t wrong. But i also want to see acknowledgement that progressives in sf have been screaming for years, recall after recall, warning people that these Silicon Valley types are dangerous (and not democrats!) and we have been dismissed by ev-ry-one! Now we’re seeing nat’l implications.

Trayvon Martin would have been 30 years old today had he not been hunted down and killed by George Zimmerman in 2012.

How are we feeling about netflix raising fees again? My feeling is that the product has gone down hill. I barely watch anymore. So it’s not the $25 more a year that annoys me exactly. It’s the gall they have to demand it when the service has gotten worse. I’ll probably pause my account.

Is that lauren hill o hear?! Everything is everything #unrivaled

The refs for unrivaled are not fucking around

I want mist to log a win bc thier coach is adorable and i want everything good for him. but not against my teammmmmm! Go vinyl. #unrivaled

People are going to evaluate their own personal risk exposure in different ways, and that's fine. But I do think it's always important to remember that democratic politics and political activism have been conducted under much worse conditions than we face and are likely to face in America today.

Writers, you might be struggling rn. Math might help. No, seriously. If you write 300 (around a page) words a day, you will have an 80k book in 267 days. Less than a year. If it's 200 words, it will take a little more than a year. Doing it slowly is still doing it. 💪

I’m not following this Meredith / Angie K argument at all. #rhoslc

I guess this is my answer.

Trump seems to be getting a lot done. Why are republicans presidents so powerful but dem presidents can’t do shit?

Oh, per @nbcnews.com: Quaker groups file suit over the end of policy restricting ICE arrests in houses of worship. Note: Quakers were some of the earliest supporters of Sanctuary, even putting out a booklet on the topic in 1984 (it's still available). www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...
