I signed books at East City Bookshop, and I will see you on Thursday? Also I bought some Girl Scout Cookies and because it was the end of the day, I got to speak the dream phrase, “I will take all your Trefoils”

Ok Kepler! #thefightins

I’m about to go on book leave for a few weeks (except for the Oscars), and by the time I get back, it will be almost real baseball season.

Proud to say many of my beloved Phillies are still too scruffo for this policy.

Not now, unrelenting eye twitch

Hey just so you know, the fact that I post the occasional intentionally gentle encouragement doesn’t mean I won’t block you for being an asshole.

In response to this stressful moment, I have apparently decided I want to be a scented candle person, since the flicker seems to be calming to some part of my pain-in-the-ass brain. Feel free to share any recommendations. (Yes. I always set a timer to make sure I blow it out blah blah blah.)

Hey: If you made it through the week, and you tried to do some things to help other people — large or small — where you could, and you need to hear it, I’m here to tell you thank you. Get some rest. Figure out today, then figure out tomorrow.

Here’s a dog. Don’t forget to take breaks. Get rest. Do something that makes you feel better. Read a good book. Watch a movie. None of these things will prevent you from helping others. Your first job is to stay above water.

Definitely a potential Surf Dracula situation, except where you’ve already seen a bunch of Surf Dracula movies.

This is about as good a review as I’ve ever seen from a professional about how their occupation is covered. He doesn’t expect perfect realism, but he seems to think they got a whole lot right that’s important. www.vulture.com/article/is-t...

Okay, one more book thing: The audio is up now from this lovely conversation I was so glad to have with Asma about both how much I love romcoms and how much I wanted to write about the difference between your work and your job. www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2...

Two things. First, the audiobook of BACK AFTER THIS, which I narrated, got a lovely review from AudioFile! If they say it’s snappy, it must be true! www.audiofilemagazine.com/reviews/read...
