I honestly feel bad for the troops today. They didn’t ask to be used as political props to boost one man’s ego on his birthday. They had managed to acknowledge the Army’s birthday just fine every year without this expensive boondoggle that is poorly attended downtown.

11 MILLION PEOPLE!! 💥💥💥 Are we nearing the magic 3.5%?? Never forget….WE hold the power. #nokings

absolutely horrifying: "Minnesota state senator John Hoffman in Champlin and Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman in Brooklyn Park were reportedly shot in their homes by a gunman impersonating a police officer."

Especially if you're on the fence about it, protest today. Fascism is isolating and lonely. Its very goal is to make you feel like you're the only person unwilling to accept a cult of personality. On days like today you fully realize there are more of us than there are them. You will feel better.

wapo.st/4kBzbPI Moving the FBI’s National Academy, which trains police leaders likely to become chiefs, to Alabama from Virginia, disconnects police from FBI agents who also train in the same Virginia facility. Why?

Corporate media has truly failed us. Obsessed with access and focused on nothing more than their monetary perks and book deals, they'll happily slow walk us into the dismantling of the Republic if it means they still get Oval Office exclusives. Support independent media.

Karen Bass: "The 100 National Guard soldiers that are downtown LA are guarding one federal building, so there is no need for this...it's all part of an experiment that is taking place in Los Angeles...what happens when the federal government intervenes and takes power away from a governor & mayor?"

A woman walking home alone was shot point-blank with “non-lethal” rounds fired by officers in Los Angeles. A neighbor filmed the assault and rushed to help only to be fired on and ordered back.

Trying to remember the last chief of US intelligence agencies who publicly advanced a conspiracy theory that the nation's "elite" are plotting to start a nuclear war because they have shelters.

Meiselas: Terry Moran, if you’re listening, we’ve just learned that your agreement has apparently been terminated by ABC. We want you to know—you will always have a place here at The MeidasTouch Network.

So it begins. Discussions are underway within the administration, and Pentagon, about deploying National Guard or active-duty troops to cities beyond Los Angeles. We’ll be sending updated guidance to all coalition members. Please follow every step, even if some sections seem irrelevant right now.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

Wow! Look at this scoop from @annamerlan.bsky.social‬: The guy who heads a new RFK Jr.-linked MAHA outfit promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories AND the antisemitic "Protocols of the Elders of Zion." Nothing but the best people in Kennedy's orbit, eh? www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

ICE agents concealing their faces: Can they really do that?

California is suing the Trump administration for deploying the state’s National Guard in Los Angeles to quell unrest over the president’s immigration raids www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

The combo of the DC Circuit AP ruling -- by a 2-1 margin w the 2 most conservative members of the court--and the 2 6-3 Sup Court DOGE rulings--on the emergency docket--make up the very sort of day many (inc me) feared in Trump 2.0. Fine-grained and procedural but clearly big victories for Admin.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Wellman: When I served in Iraq.. I heard about how Saddam Hussein divided them. Different sects fought each other. But you know -- Saddam and his family sat laughing at all of them. They divided them against each other and kept their power for 35 years. Does this sound familiar to anybody?
