Finished some art today. The keychain was just testing some new thread I got and I didn’t know how to end it, so I made a point. Lol. Art just be like that sometimes. #experimentoften

The sweater is finished. We’re going to ignore the fact that it accentuates my rotund belly and appreciate it for fitting perfectly. #crochetsweater #crochet #shrug

How it started vs how it’s going. I like this yarn. I wasn’t sure, but I actually do. It’s making a cute af shrug. Now I’ve gotta get the sleeves matching. I’m 5 rows into the left one. 🧶

Latest project. It’s finished. It’s low key giving me trypophobia. So I may not keep this one. The beads were a bad choice tbh. lol. Oh well. 🧶

What’s on the clipboard This is teeny tiny metallic thread. Not sure how I’m gonna finish it off. It doesn’t melt. It catches fire like a fuse. Which is really not helpful when closing something off. So we’ll see. This is currently a half inch long.

What’s on the clipboard Starting a new new years bracelet. I was also considering making it a key fob. But I’m not sure. It’s a bit time consuming for a simple key fob. 🧶 🧧🪢

What’s on the clipboard This one is on a jump ring and clasp. 🧶 #macrame #bracelet

Current project. Using a pattern that I saw on 小红书 and modifying for a flat design. I don’t have the materials for the circular design. The color segments started lined up, but very quickly went of kilter. Let’s see how this turns out. #macrame #chinesebracelet #chinesenewyear

I’m not sure if I like the tassels. I can always modify it later. I was just trying them out to see if I like them and I just went meh 😑 #macrame #necklace 🧶🪢

I made a flower brooch. Just playing with yarn I bought last year. #crochetflower #crochet

I just had to resubscribe to a block list I was subscribed to. Check you subs. Might be a glitch.

Found the motif I want to make my sweater out of. There’s one more color not represented here. Looking forward to stitching this up quicker next time. This took me 2 hours. You don’t want to know how many times I frogged the blue and red rows. 🤦‍♀️ Square measures 6”. Hopefully the math maths. 🧶

Played a little #stardewvalley tonight. Haven’t played on my perfect game (that’s no longer perfect 🥺) since 1.6 released. Here’s some screenshots from tonight.

I’ve been crocheting for almost 40 years. I’ve done Tunisian, freehand lace, mosaic overlay, standard (of course), doilies, and granny squares. Trying new styles of crochet is fun. But mochila is hard. Hats off to those of you that make masterpieces using this style. 👏🙌 🧶

Your eyes are not deceiving you. I had tension issues. There are 18 stitches at the bottom and the top. I have no idea why it got tighter and tighter as I went. But hey, it’s consistent, so we can pretend like I did it on purpose. 🤭 🧶 There’s another type of tapestry crochet I wanna try next.

Picking a wip back up. This is mochila crochet, or tapestry, or wayuu. It has many names and works great with alpha patterns. This will be a bookmark. It’s wonky bc this is my first ever attempt at this type of crochet. Using a steel 8. 🧶 #crochet #alphapattern

Now I think I should actually start on my sweater this time. Lol. I am famous for starting other projects when I have a harder project I’m worried about. Best motivator to get todo’s off the to be made list. I’ve wanted to make these slippers since last summer.

They’re done. Finally finished my elf slippers, which I’m nicknaming my fugly granny slippers. I love them in all their fugliness. And yes, that’s an evil eye 🧿 on the left foot. #grannysquares #slippers #crochet #finished 🧶

Making the second slipper. I used every color I have of this yarn only once, so no two blocks have a repeating color. I also didn’t repeat patterns from the first slipper. These slippers are gonna be fun-ky. 🧶 one square to go. Then I can assemble. Dinner first.

One down, one to go. I’ve been wanting to make a pair of these for a year now. When I noticed the new squares were the same exact size that I needed for the slippers (3.375”), I started assembling what I had, which was enough for 1 slipper. The 2nd one is going to be completely different. 🧶

Contemplating frogging the 6 squares I made yesterday and re-doing them w a 3 mm hook. It’s the mandala cake in rainbow (I can’t remember the actual name) cut up by color, so I can use each one individually. There’s not much of each color. So setting these aside to collect dust is a waste. 🧶

Every once in awhile I check the pulse over on clapper. It’s nothing but shitposting… all the way down. But here’s my latest contribution to that shit pile. Follow me if you have an account over there. I post 3x a year. Lmao clapperapp.com/video/x9jVzM...

Three granny squares crocheted with three different size hooks, lined up on one corner, so the edges you’re seeing are the difference in size. I prefer the 3mm with this yarn. 🧶

From left to right: 3mm, 3.25mm, 3.5mm, 4.25mm, and 4.5mm. Somehow the 3.25 mm looks bigger than the 3.5 mm. I wonder if it’s due to the style difference. Honestly my preferred hook is the cut style. But I’m stuck using the knobby style ones because they’re all I could find for my budget. 🧶

Checking this yarn gauge with a smaller hook. It’s .25” - .5” smaller (pre-blocked), bringing the square down to 4”. I like it better than the hook I used for the heavier yarn. I wonder what a 3mm hook would look like since the yarn is half the size of the merino. Stay tuned. 🧶

Playing with other yarn instead. These are 4.5”, so they won’t fit on the sweater… unless… I make the sleeves with these. We’ll see. I’ll blow thru the yarn and see what I want to make with the squares. It’s acrylic, so won’t really go with the other yarn tbh. Oh well. #grannysquares 🧶

This is all I have so we’ll see how many blocks I can get out of them. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna need 5 more, min, to make a sweater for my fat ass. But I kinda wanted it to look like a scrap sweater, so as long as I keep the squares 5 inches it shouldn’t matter what yarn I use. 🧶
