I honestly havenāt checked in a number of years. I know Finke hadnāt found the mechanism yet in 2017 when I was helping him in the lab and he passed away a couple years ago.
You can read a short article about him here: thetacomaledger.com/2015/10/12/p...

I think I saw, at least, the abstract for that. And youāre right PFAS are not small molecules. Itās a wonder why they canāt get a usable medication for this issue, when so many unsavory things cross that barrier.

Why didnāt I notice that Siri thought I said bottle, not ball? Oy! I really wish speech to text worked properly, since itās an accessibility feature for me. Jesus wept, Apple!

I was just responding to your definitive statement to bring up that they werenāt just funding amyloid research, but also research re: crossing the blood brain barrier, which is independent of amyloid research. If amyloid reducers work if they have access, thatās a whole other bottle of wax.

Iām super curious about your platform. I sent an application of interest. Iām curious, if Iām approved, do I send you things to list? Is there an approval process of each item? Is there a set price or can I set my own? So many questions.

Yes, trying to cross the blood brain barrier. Whereās the disconnect?

Thatās not true. John Finke (rip) got regular funding and was following a different approach. I donāt know who took over his research at UW, or if theyāre following his lead.

Right? I kinda like it.

It wonāt. Itās wonky because the stitches are tighter at the top than they are at the bottom. Blocking will not fix that. But Iām fine with it being trapezoid shaped. At least it got tighter consistently. lol.

Plastic is crossing the blood brain barrier, but Alzheimerās medications are still struggling?

Lmao. Right? I just want people to see my crafts. Oh, and teach me their language. My brother went to China with me speaking more Mandarin than him and he came back almost fluent 3 years later. I gotta catch up.

More housekeeping:
Do not speak about politics, religion, or badmouth the Chinese on Red Note. Remember this is their house, you are a guest, act like one.

Someone else wanted to make bunches and bunches, so in another comment I added the math in if you want to get the math there. This pattern is actually locked behind a paywall, and I donāt know how much loyalty there is for that. I figured the math out by myself, so thatās why Iām sharing it.

Arenāt they cute? I was going to do the math for someone else, but it sounds like you want to do a bunch. So hereās the math:
F/2 / 1.4142 = granny square width
F= foot length
Mine:
9.5ā/2 = 4.75ā/1.4142 = 3.359ā
Granny squares 3 3/8ā - 3.5ā wide
Happy stitching!

It took 2 days to make these. But one if you dedicate a day to it.
If you let me know your foot length, I can do the math so youāll at least know what size square you need. Thatās the only part missing on the Pinterest posts. Itās something I had to work out myself.

Gotta remember to try this on my new slippers. Itās cheap yarn (mandala cake) that I bought for punch needle. Never intended to make anything wearable with it. I just needed an economical source for many colors. Works great for that. Not for slippers. So itchy.

What makes them even uglier is the fact that I was using harsh light. Lol. But yeah theyāre pretty comfy.

Look @toomuchlavender.bsky.social I made a single slipper! Lol. Iāll make the other one tomorrow. Iām calling them my fugly granny square slippers.

I just need to reinforce the stress points and make 7 more squares and assemble the 2nd one. š®āšØ I love unplanned projects that turn into wishlist projects. I kinda do this to myself sometimes. Teehee. š¤
