It is VERY frustrating. It bothers me, too, and yet, this “loophole” will likely give him an out this time. SMDH

It is a private college, so there’s a grey area with funding. Historically, the state has done some funding of private institutions, but this year, the new guy cut the funding. It smacks of the whole “anti-DEI” racism trope, but I’m sure he’ll find a supportive out because it’s not a public school.

Depending on how the whole 14th amendment “birthright” issue shakes out, you could see a whole lot of folks losing citizenship - including me and my kids.
We can cross our fingers and hope that the Supreme Court rules that the executive order is Unconstitutional.
But they may not.
Then what?!

Yup. My brother named me after a girl in his class that he was sweet on. I am glad they translated it a little. My brother had a speech impediment at the time and said “wet’s name hew Wee-saw”.
I was SUPPOSED to be named Naomi. Can you imagine how sassy I would have been with THAT name?

(2/2) you need to invite people off these platforms and i to a space you control: your website, email list, etc. platforms come and go. I have been online more than 30 years and the one constant that has kept me fed are the online spaces I own and control. Build YOUR platform, not just theirs!

That IS an interesting name! Did she tell you why? I have such a strange fascination with how and why people are given the names they have.

Are you applying steady pressure as you push the fabric? Does it happen as you are coming to the end of a push and letting up on the fabric?

Be nervous. Nerve-cited. My Jr high band teacher said nerves are expected. It means you’ve done the work. Fear means you haven’t prepared.
You have done the work. You will be great.

It’s early days here. Scream away. Look at some starter kits, create your own, or find a few to add you. That makes finding people a bit easier.

And if you are in Detroit, the library is great there! I have library cards active in 3 cities right now because their digital collections are different. I’ve had a card in every town I’ve lived in, so keep yours active to help keep funding alive for your library!

Well, Indiana University had decided to make a bunch of salaried workers hourly in order to deal with the pay bump, so I’m not sure if it would have been a win either way.

Right now, this feels a lot like OG twitter, but a little better because of how the algo is designed. Engage with content you like, follow a few folks that you like and the algo can help connect you to more
