(📢) MAJOR BREAKING NEWS: The Daily Beast publishes a sourced allegation that Trump has been a Russian spy since 1987 and then—possibly under some form of threat—deletes it. But in an act of unusual heroism, it left it up long enough for Wayback Machine to capture it text. Here it is (please share):

I read Mary Shelley's "The Last Man" last year, a novel set in 2073 about humanity getting wiped out by pandemics. (She wrote it in 1826.) It ends in 2100 with, well, the last man. This administration seems to be taking it out of the realm of science fiction.

“More than a quarter of the contracts listed by DOGE were actually already paid, the Journal found, saving no money. For instance, DOGE listed $168,000 in savings for terminating a contract with HHS for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit. It had already been fully paid.” Beyond parody.

So, apparently Elon Musk has Canadian citizenship?! Don’t fret, @charlieangus104.bsky.social has set up a federal petition to have it revoked. Sign! Share! www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...

I appreciate this response from Ed Yong on why he requests that people mask at his events. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

We kicked holocaust denier Ernst ZĂźndel out of Canada. Why the hell would we let Elon Musk have any claim on Canada? He is a fascist threatening the people of Ukraine. I am proud to be helping drive this asshole from our shores. www.ctvnews.ca/canada/artic...

Donald Trump says Canada has no right to exist. I take the threat seriously. With our sovereignty on the table I support a national discussion on next steps. But CBC thinks it would be fun to have an American DJ co-host whether we should exist as a nation. Fuck that @ianhanomansing.bsky.social

My formal complaint. Feel free to borrow #CrossCountryFuckUp #Never51stState

CBC USA's @ianhanomansing.bsky.social follows 12 accounts Only one woman. Make of that what you will #cdnmediafails

This is the predictable result of Hanomansing sanewashing the situation. It's not "comments" or a "proposal". It's an existential threat to Canada.

This is really terrible. It’s a moment of glory for him personally. Damn this country. This is why he’s so fervent about this. Massive audience for Ian himself.

Unlawfully and disgracefully.

Where are the Democrats but also Where are the churches Where are the celebrities Where are the NGOs Where are the Universities Where are professional groups like AMA Where are the athletes Where are the unions What people/groups do and don’t do for next month determines our collective future

This is Musk's work and he should be explaining it to all of us. Or better yet, just shutting everything down and getting out of DC. What a wonderful silence that would bring.

Canada represents everything the United States will never be, and the United States represents everything Canada will never become.

The polar bear in my daughter’s climate change project has broken my heart

He only wants clicks and views. He’s complaining immoral.

Please read my latest reflection. There are lies we tell to comfort ourselves. Like Democrats who say we just have to wait two year and Trump will lose control of the House. Like those in Germany who promoted Hitler while believing they could control him. charlieangus.substack.com/p/the-reichs...

"This fight will be led by ordinary people and through everyday acts of resistance." - Charlie Angus

"So what connects these men’s southern African backgrounds with Maga today? Southern Africa under apartheid offered an extreme version of some of the main themes of American life today."

I’m not a federal government employee but here are my ‘five bullets’ of what I ‘accomplished’ last week: 1. Pissed off JD Vance 2. Pissed off Elon Musk 3. Taped a hilarious convo with Hasan Minhaj (out next month) 4. Taped a great convo with Jemele Hill 5. Drank more than one chocolate milkshake.

Hanomansing and CBC playing cute with explicitly fascist expansionism is great. Not a sign of subtly prepping the population for annexation at all.

What do Germans think about making Austria greater Germany, and what role can Poland play in this discussion? We’re taking calls from the most vocal German Nazi supporters.

Measles is particularly bad because not only is it deadly and highly contagious itself, it seems to wipe your bodies immunity ‘history’. So suddenly you can catch EVERYTHING again. People who survive are extremely susceptible to death by something else shortly after www.bbc.com/future/artic...

“What’s wrong with talking to people.” Flattening the discussion to give equal weight to opinions that are in line with sovereignty and supporting international military threats is wildly irresponsible. They are not equal. It’s like letting people who support eating asbestos be treated seriously.

#Krasnov should be trending huge on here. For context, it's the KGB name for when they recruited the Orange Shitler back in the 1980s. The Legacy Media is now scrubbing proof of the story given they put it out there. NO retractions, just removing it. www.dailykos.com/stories/2025...

Pakistan does not exist, apparently.

"The figures from [DOGE] represent billions in government cuts. They are also full of accounting errors, outdated data and other miscalculations."

Each of these four points is crucially important. They explain why Ukraine is not lost — and Europe is not threatened — without the United States. More commitment and expenditure will be required, but there’s no reason for surviving democracies to capitulate

Eggs are now so expensive they’re smuggling them like fentanyl.

The science journalist and author @edyong209.bsky.social likes to joke that during the first wave of Covid-19 in 2020, the impact and reach of his reporting for The Atlantic turned him into “a character in the season of ‘Pandemic.’” ht @picardonhealth.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

Every time a fascist threat appears, the appeasers rush to comply in advance. You just don't expect the national broadcaster to be among them "Dear Americans, how do you feel about violently annexing your long-standing friend and ally?" is not the type of conversation I want my tax dollars going to.

There is still zero reason to let Americans call in on this. Should Radio Ukraine host a call in-show asking Russians what they think of Ukraine becoming the newest Oblast?
