Ahhhh, I used this film as a major source in my student thesis in college! Sooo long ago, but I do remember themes of psychological horror. Along with Barrymore’s “Dr. Jekyll & Me. Hyde” and “Fall of the House of Usher” (1928). Wish I still had the paper.
