Book characters that age, all I want to do is gently talk to them about their life choices and help them to learn to make better decisions. 😆

Seriously, whoevers writes book descriptions, please put specific ages in there! 🙏

30 years old and up I can manage, but apparently my brain draws the line at 22. 🤷♀️ 😆

It's my midlife prudery showing, reading smut when I'm old enough to be their mom yanks me out of enjoying the story. Started noticing it a few years ago and it's getting worse. Mainly happens w/contemporary romance, it's not such a big deal with histroms or romantasy. 🫤

You say that like it's a bad problem to have! ;)

That is such a great book! I'm new to John Scalzi but he's fast becoming one of my favorite authors. :)

I know what you mean! I love reading but want to do it on my own time, and being in a book club also feels like a lot of pressure to present an opinion. That could also be my social anxiety talking, lol. I've never been in a book club with friends before so maybe I'd feel differently.

Many thanks to #NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for the eARC of All Superheroes Need PR by Elizabeth Stephens. This was such a fun read! Villain-to-superhero, civilians falling in love with heroes, grumpy mmc meets anxious fmc, HEA, open-door. Highly recommend!

I know I keep saying this, but if you don't already use your local library then you're missing out. Free community resources, free books and other media (including digital media). What's not to love? #PublicLibraries #SeminoleCountyPublicLibrary

I like it! Wondering if that also works for alternate meanings of "beef" (such as, having a grudge or argument)? 🤔 As in, "I have multiple beeves with multiple people."

Good for you! It's a tough call to DNF. I've been doing that more often, I want to spend my limited time & energy doing things I enjoy. Whenever I've decided to put a book down mid-read I usually don't regret it. Sometimes I'll go back and try again & the book works for me but that's rare.

That's gorgeous! And hypnotic!

And it was an ARC so I couldn't DNF. 🫤 I knew it was going to be scary going in, but the "LOL" part made me think it would temper what was going on with humor. It didn't so I was stuck with a dark and upsetting book that was well-written but absolutely not what I signed up for. 😠

Jensen Ackles' face seems to follow me across social media, and it's almost always because of you! 😆 So, thank you? 😆

Sorry to report he did *not* get better, only very slightly more self-aware. Still pretty arrogant and entitled, though.

I hate it when they do that! I just read a book where in the book description it literally said "laugh-out-loud" but there was nothing funny about this book (ended up being pretty gory horror, yikes).
