I fully expect Christians themselves to be targeted by this “anti-Christian bias” task force—the wrong kind of Christians who don’t support the agenda of right-wing Christian supremacy.

My newsletter tomorrow is called, “Do Not Fear Their Threats.” In it, I invite us to ponder these words from 1 Peter 3:8-18 and how they might help to settle our hearts in a time when many are determined to overwhelm us with chaos. Join here: benjamin-cremer.kit.com/profile

Indeed

Hear our prayer. The last verse is landing harder than usual.

Now that sounds like some good fruit.

"If the influential Catholic writer Thomas Merton were alive today, he would likely have strong words about police brutality and racial profiling."

One meaningful thing you can do right now is support Indigenous artists and remember that Indigenous peoples everywhere have experienced several apocalypses. And then remind yourself that we owe it to them, as well as to ourselves and our children, to keep going, keep fighting, keep creating.

Amen.

“Be careful when you pass judgment. You aren’t dispensing justice by merely human standards but for the Lord, who is with you. Therefore, respect the Lord and act accordingly, because there can be no injustice, playing favorites, or taking bribes when it comes to the Lord our God.”(2 Chr 19:6-7 CEB)

"He has told you, human one, what is good and what the Lord requires from you: to do justice, embrace faithful love, and walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8 CEB)

"He enacts justice for orphans and widows, and he loves immigrants, giving them food and clothing. That means you must also love immigrants because you were immigrants in Egypt." (Deuteronomy 10:18-19 CEB)

"Don’t mistreat or oppress an immigrant, because you were once immigrants in the land of Egypt." (Exodus 22:21 CEB)

"When immigrants live in your land with you, you must not cheat them. Any immigrant who lives with you must be treated as if they were one of your citizens. You must love them as yourself, because you were immigrants in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God." (Leviticus 19:33-34 CEB)

Leviticus 19:33-34 33 When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. 34 The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God. Rev. Budde did her job.

Lamentations 1:1 CEB #wordsforthispresentage Oh, no! She sits alone, the city that was once full of people. Once great among nations, she has become like a widow. Once a queen over provinces, she has become a slave.

Every act of courage matters now. Don't leave it to someone else - an authority, someone with power. You need to be brave. We always spoke of everyday kindness. What we need now is everyday courage.

A reminder for these times: "It is not your duty to finish the work, but neither are you at liberty to neglect it" - Pirkei Avot 2:16

Over the past month or so, I've been writing a manifesto. And I think today is the perfect day to publish it. Enjoy. open.substack.com/pub/maeforre...

Things are pretty bad. Mae and Bill want to do something about it. Welcome to Anarchodox, a podcast for Christians, Anarchists, Christian Anarchists, and all our fellow travelers.

However, we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this Age or of the leaders of this age who are being done away with.

The attention of responsible people is directed to concrete neighbors in their concrete reality. —Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Should Christians sing the national anthem? Join the military? Vote? 🤔 Exploring how the Anabaptist tradition's radical "no" to state power might have something to teach us about faith, politics, and allegiance in an age of Christian nationalism. www.parrott.ink/the-anabapti...
