Yesterday was fun. I went to the new Seminole Casino in Okeechobee opening at noon. They have a hotel & a four lane bowling alley. An event center was kicking off with Lynyrd Skynyrd. The hotel is expensive! Played blackjack finally & couldn't lose! If it wasn't the hand itself, it was the bonuses.

We moved to Georgia just after Jimmy Carter left as Governor. Having never heard of him before that, naturally I asked locals about how he was as Governor when he began running for President. I still chuckle when I remember the almost universal response of "well, you can't hold that against him".

Most of the time I find the Goodreads Awards to be unbelievably bad. But I do tend to find possible reads in the Non-fiction selections. Such as "The Lost Tomb" by Douglas Preston, a selection of true stories that served as the basis for many of his mystery thrillers cowritten with Lincoln Child.
