I'm going to try and communicate with my Republican colleagues in a new way.

Y’all need to read the comments under this post 🤣🤣🤣

I love this piece from @cultofpedagogy.bsky.social this week... and now I'm wondering if I could get away with having a 10-minute silent reading time in my once-weekly college night class? I think I could. I might just try this fall. #Reading www.cultofpedagogy.com/silent-readi...

Turned some feelings into some art. Think it actually helped a bit.

If you’re zip-tying grandmas protesting losing health care maybe you’re not the good guys in the story?

To my fellow fans of a nice-writing and aesthetically pleasing pen, please consider my newest obsession: the Mr. Pen gel pen. Seriously, it writes so well AND feels so good in the hand. 😍 (I don't get a commission and this is not spon con. I just love them.) mrpen.com/products/mr-...

"If you aren't friends with a lizard, maybe ask yourself why...?" . Those words, spoken into a sacred circle of women on the day of the summer solstice, keep coming back to me. They make me giggle and light and connected to the abundant life on this planet. 🦎💜🌍

Thank you, @nicole-lee-sch.bsky.social , for articulating so well the intentionality behind this community work I'm proud to be a part of. We are committed to building a world that welcomes everyone as they are. 🥰🥹

Today on the podcast, it's a Take It or Leave It panel with Stacey Johnson, @liznorell.bsky.social, and @vijisathy.bsky.social! We dig into higher ed's current political moment, bringing ourselves into the classroom, & authenticity in an age of AI. intentionalteaching.buzzsprout.com/2069949/epis...

Being in community with colleagues in the first day of the #Gather2Resist25 virtual gathering is balm for my soul today.

Tapping my "writing is thinking" sign in the key of @biblioracle.bsky.social

The ungrading book club (organized by the indefatiguable @dbuckedu.bsky.social) is reading @biblioracle.bsky.social's fantastic book, More than Words, about exactly why we should be helping students understand the value of critical thinking and other challenging cognitive work.

Volunteers needed! The Virtual Gathering is next week (HOORAY!) and we need additional session moderation help. If you're available, please fill out this form to join us! There will be at least two moderators in every session, so you won't be doing this alone. forms.gle/8Q2Nsf2WDZ4y... More 👇

Too many perfectly crafted sentences to quote. It's short. Just read it all. . This is no laughing matter. Satire often helps us see the stark reality before us, and in that spirit, @mcsweeneys.net hits a home run with this one.

My professional association asked its members to react to proposed changes to its mission/vision/values. Gone is language emphasizing evidence-based/scholarly teaching. Gone are references to eliminating systemic biases and supporting social justice. I. Have. Thoughts. 🙄

New blog post: This one gets your students thinking like a statistician. How is it that we can use data to make predictions? Where does that data come from? How can we repurpose existing data? How does pizza consumption predict war? notawfulandboring.blogspot.com/2025/06/does...

We know connections are important. A survey “found that 35 percent of respondents think their academic success would be most improved by professors getting to know them better,” highlighting the importance of student-professor connections. www.insidehighered.com/news/student...

I can’t stop laughing, help

This looks really interesting. Ironically, it's behind a paywall. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Want ideological diversity across academia? Increase academic pay to be the equivalent of private industry jobs (law firms, tech, health, defense, etc.) and boom - ideological diversity. This is so obvious.
