We were in Providence, RI. Local reports said 5,000 at the Rhode Island state house. Local law enforcement were supportive clearing the way for march around the building. I didn't notice any counter-protesters. We kept running into a Providence Journal reporter.

Congressman Golden,
Do you not see an assault here? Can you not hear Senator Padilla clearly identifying himself?

At least one of the representatives in Maine has a reasonable historical perspective on the current situation.

We're 90% of the way to becoming a police state. Vladdy should be proud of his orange tinted protege.

The BDN speaks the truth today. I have doubts that the people that really need to see this will either read or understand. Of the three flags mentioned, only those flying the Confederate battle flag have committed treason and caused the death of thousands of Americans. Military must be apolitical.

LBJ federalized the Alabama National Guard to PROTECT American's constitutional right of free assembly.

"Seems excessive", "raises serious questions". What phrases does Senator Collins use when she is really passionate about an issue?

Thank you for following the LePage Facebook page so others don't have to. Even Maine has its share of Neanderthals. Years ago, one of the regular Bangor Daily commentors gave LePage the nickname of Penguin and it fits him perfectly.

I noticed the locations for both where we live and where we will be on the 14th have been moved to locations that can accommodate larger crowds.

Felon-in-chief and alcoholic sec def will find four fine straight white male Confederate names to rename the ships and the U.S. will be safe and sound for decades to come.

It is a big deal, probably a BFD, if you are looking at a 50-mile greater error in the path of a category 3 or higher hurricane.

John was so confident in his forecast because of the high quality of the data feeding the models both NWS and private forecasters based their forecasts on. Reduce the quantity of the data and reliability decreases. No big deal if it's a difference of a high of 84 and a high of 77.

Representative Walsh has very clearly explained why these are not normal times and what the stakes are now. The Democratic Party can and must be a big tent.

Senator Ernst,
You have found your calling! Resign from the Senate and start your new career as an evangelical pastor!
Seriously, are there any decent Republican office holders left?

This is consistent for the current regime. Competence is irrelevant. Just find the warm bodies to do the felon's bidding without any critical thinking needed.

We were there for a game in April 2006 and Brewers fans were tailgating in the snow in the parking lot. I wish I could remember the name of the brewpub, but their flight contained 9 samples!

The satire is obvious - if it rains today, it's Joe Biden's fault and if it doesn't rain, that's Joe's fault as well. I just happened to pick up on the headline date was envisioning an American version of the Kim dynasty. Keep up the good work.

Please note the date. Orange Felon would be 109 if he were somehow to continue converting O2 to CO2. Is he going to start a North Korean style dynasty?

I'm waiting for the Donald Trump concert at Gillette Stadium to see if he can play three hours straight without a break and dances with women from the audience. I'm really looking forward to the original compositions with lower case letters.

Social media makes people antisocial; smart phones make people stupid. I love watching baseball as much as anyone, but your last name doesn't have to be Einstein to realize professional athletes are human beings and nearly all take accountability for their performance.

I've made small donations to Jared in his first two runs and also made small contributions to Indivisible. Indivisible and similar organizations have taken the lead in the first steps of standing up to felon-in-chief and cronies. If it's LePage vs. Golden in 2026, I'll hold my nose, but give $0.

Either they don't understand the implications of their action, which would mean they are incompetent, or they fully understand the implications and don't care, which would mean they are evil.

Just a different brand - like Coke and Pepsi. Freedom of religion means you have the right to observe your religion, whatever brand it is, premium, generic, or none. You don't have the right to impose your brand on others.

The 250th anniversary of the United States is July 4, 2026. What are we celebrating on June 14, 2025? That's nearly thirteen months premature.
If you really do want to celebrate Dear Leader's 250th birthday, mark your calendar for 6/14/2196.

I agree there is a mismatch between the headline and the actual article. It would be interesting to see the reasons cited by those who think the country is headed in the wrong direction as well as breakdowns by Congressional district.

A lot of comments on the BDN regarding reporter's rough estimate of the crowd size. She got there early and had a great line of sight for the speakers but a poor vantage point to see other directions where the crowd was. I didn't know her name at the time but saw she was taking copious notes.
