Learning from error predictions rather than prediction errors: a theory of self-supervised learning in the brain: http://osf.io/rm3nh_v1/

With @eliamascolo.bsky.social we developed an interactive class on biological evolution (focusing on mutations 👾) for science #teacher through a card game 🎲 We crash-tested it with #HighSchool students from Milan and made it available online for broader use: replicards.netlify.app #SciCom #EvoBio

🚨 🧠 We have a new preprint out where we studied which brain networks are engaged during mental imagery and self-generated thought. We used a precision fMRI approach along with multidimensional experience sampling (mDES) to get trialwise self-reports from each participant about what they imagined.

Join us March 6th for a workshop on #Computational_Neuroscience. We’ll discuss several research topics within this interdisciplinary field, and ways to grow the local community. @upcite.bsky.social biomedicale.u-paris.fr/workshop-on-...

I put some introductory #EEG / #MEG videos together, based on our introduction to #neuroimaging at the @mrccbu.bsky.social : youtube.com/playlist?lis.... They should cover the most common aspects of EEG/MEG analysis, including pre-processing, source estimation and functional connectivity.

Here is a new, shorter version of our mental imagery survey. Please if you can spare a few minutes we would appreciate if you could take this & pass it along to others who might be interested. Thanks! tstbl.co/763-452 #neuroskyence #visionscience #psychscisky #aphantasia #mentalimagery

2.5 years after ‘the great debate’ at ASSC Amsterdam, we revisit it: Lamme, @standehaene.bsky.social , @smfleming.bsky.social , Boly and @anilseth.bsky.social present their theories, and Melloni and myself try to extract some insights and criticisms. >>> www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

We have an opening for a 12 month Research Assistant post, funded by an ERC grant. The postholder would help with several neuroimaging projects, including MEG and 7T fMRI. Please repost and share with anyone who may be interested. www.ucl.ac.uk/work-at-ucl/... #neuroskyence #Neuroimaging

🥳thrilled that our dockerHDDM tutorial paper, after many years's work was published in my dream journal AMPPS of @psychscience.bsky.social 🤩 👇 doi.org/10.1177/2515.... The image's been downloaded 10K+⏬ docker Hub Such a pleasure to work w/ Wanke, Ru Yuan, Haiyang & member of HDDM/HSSM team!

Can LLMs be used to discover interpretable models of human and animal behavior?🤔 Turns out: yes! Thrilled to share our latest preprint where we used FunSearch to automatically discover symbolic cognitive models of behavior. 1/12

I have been reading about cognitive maps and finding this literature fascinating, in particular that they could be reused to generalize. But is there really evidence for this? More generally, IYO what piece of evidence is missing to demonstrates the brain uses CM in important ways? Please RT🙏

Could we consider aphantasia as unconscious mental imagery? We argue that the aphantasia doesn’t meet a critical criterion for (unconscious) imagery: Representations during imagery are perceptual-like. Check our letter here : doi.org/10.31234/osf...
