The window is an exceptional piece of stained glass artistry, with its gorgeous Pre-Raphaelite figures and intensely vibrant colours.

This stained-glass depiction of Gabriel and Mary was designed by John Pollard Seddon (not Sedding), who helped to restore the church in the 1860s and 1870s. The design is said to have been derived from a cartoon by H.A. Kennedy.
