i'm reminded of this very specific animation youtu.be/7GoTB9MnFh8?...

to my shock, i actually have the money and free time to be able to get a switch 2 at launch, when only a few months ago, i wasn't sure if i'd have either. but, i also don't really want to get it...
comment in response to post
having it on switch would've been convenient for this one specific situation!
comment in response to post
eh, i already have DERQ (and Mary Skelter, though that's an aside) on switch i say this because Code Z released on the switch in japan, just not elsewhere, which i'm still upset over

i need to save Rottie! i think i have around half of the death ends. i keep going back and forth with thinking "wow, getting all of these really sucks!" and then actually getting it and thinking "oh that wasn't so bad"

is that Mr. Mew in the top-left?

the mary skelter influence is spreading, soon there'll be 7 hour video essays about it

i think merchandising just depends on how much people like a specific character, and gqux just has characters people like
comment in response to post
eh... i feel like pinning the flaws of one anime onto everything else and saying it's all for money is a bit short-sighted for one, i think having better stories/characters would make more financial sense lol and also gquuuuuux in general is just oddly (maybe even poorly) paced and written

man i wish i was that chocolate bread thing

doki doki panic or lost levels?
comment in response to post
but the story and writing offsets all of my issues. as you said, it really does just feel like DERQ 3. also spacehey is basically myspace

it doesn't help that the game makes you start over from the very beginning of the dungeon if you die the only reason why i'm 8 hours in is because i spent what i'm pretty sure was 4 or 5 hours just hunting for death ends in the first dungeon, it's so time consuming
comment in response to post
i don't really like how death ends are handled here. i do like that pretty much every possible way to die in this game gives you a unique death end, but i don't like the specific chain of events you need to do to trigger a lot of them, like the 0% sanity and double death ends

i'm about 8 hours in, and just started chapter 2. i was admittedly a bit upset that it was a rougelike since i tend not to like those too much (and, admittedly, when they announced a DERQ spinoff, i was imagining a hack and slash kind of game), but the game itself is comfortable enough for me

go figure spacehey would die right when my copy of code z came in i had a whole unboxing planned and everything and i wanted to do a special blog about it but guess that'll wait until tomorrow

if you mean Yuka Takaoka... yeah, i guess? not to sound rude, but she's been streaming for a while now. her streams are quite cozy, she plays pokemon, and one time i managed to catch her playing persona 4, i quite like her taste in games, gacha aside

if you see this and you and at least 5 of your followers don't follow suit, i'll send a creepy-cute ghost girl to haunt you and move random objects around in your home while you sleep! you'll never see your phone charger again!

i thought chrono ark was related to chrono trigger/chrono cross so this screenshot confused me for a second

ok, good, it wasn't just me. i was afraid i'd gotten banned, since it said something about not being able to get user data, but then when looking at the site on an incognito tab, it seems like there're no users at all.

genuinely excited beyond words a bit sad that i probably won't be able to beat the other game i was playing in time, though
comment in response to post
oh i just noticed, i meant to say "i WAS watching this video" god i'm ending myself for that one
comment in response to post
again, i feel like if you have to justify something this badly to yourself, you should probably just not engage with anime/manga as a medium
comment in response to post
another thing that bothered were the handful of comments i kept seeing that were like "i normally HATE fanservice and immediately drop other anime when it happens, but One Piece isn't like OTHER anime, because-"
comment in response to post
this was going to ruin my whole morning if i didn't complain about it lol on the bright side, i'm more motivated to work on my suicide girl video because of this. i really like just saying "i like this character because i think she's hot" when i talk about things lol
comment in response to post
i guess my point is just i don't get how people can call themselves fans of something when they have to bend over backwards to justify an aspect of something that they don't like instead of just leaving it at "i don't like it" i see a lot with japanese media and it depresses me
comment in response to post
an intelligent defense of this point imo would simply that...it's a cartoon. oda just draws characters he finds attractive. i don't get how (seemingly specifically only english-speaking) people don't understand character design especially considering that a lot of these people seem to be artists
comment in response to post
but also following these people's thought process of "drawn porn = real porn", that's...now how the law works. (hypothetically speaking) a teenager watching child porn wouldn't magically be fine because the teenager is watching another teenager.
comment in response to post
and the other thing i kept seeing in the comments that bothered me was "well shounen anime is meant for teenagers, and it's ok for teenagers to sexualize other teenagers" which...i guess isn't wrong
comment in response to post
(i also feel like implying the japanese are all just fine with sex with underage girls because mangaka draw it sometimes is actually racist, or at the very least, horribly misinformed i don't understand why people have that thought process)
comment in response to post
like, some of the comments were trying to justify the "oda draws underage characters" thing in very odd ways two things i kept seeing were (paraphrased) "the age of consent is lower in japan, therefore" which is...not correct and also isn't relevant since consent laws don't apply to drawings
