Also, if you're programming for digital streaming, then a long runtime is no longer a hinderance. Longer theatrical movies on film meant more and heavier reels and fewer daily screenings.

Defense Lawyer: The knife was planted in my client's apartment. EADA Jack McCoy: By a police officer. The chain of custody remained intact.

So they had some rule that only graduating students could be on the stage (and there might be important safety reasons for such a rule), but he says he asked at rehearsal and was told it was fine to bring his baby. And of course bc cops were present, they had to be assholes about it …

Defense Lawyer: My client just informed me of the circumstances. EADA Jack McCoy: Here’s a novel idea: try talking to your client. Defense Lawyer: He doesn’t understand the system. McCoy: He may not be the only one.

ADA Serena Southerlyn: The Miranda warnings are a formality. Hell, they’ve become trite. Everybody knows their rights, Jack. EADA Jack McCoy: I wonder how Judge Larkin will take that argument. DA Arthur Branch: Larkin, huh? I hear she had the “right” turn signal removed from her car.

Love Superman. I think Gunn’s take of an idealistic Superman in a world where people are cynical about superheroes is exactly what we need right now. I’m so pumped.

ADA Serena Southerlyn: Your honor, not only did the defendant ambush and murder an officer of this court, but he’s also a member of a terrorist group. Defendant: I object! Judge: So do I. The only difference is I’m allowed to.

Suspect: Do either of you guys speak French? Det. Ed Green: A little bit. Suspect: Good. Then you’ll understand when I say that my father was a schmuck.

Det Lenny Briscoe: So, Dr Brody, tell me a story. Assistant ME Brody: What we got here is one very dead lady. Briscoe: You went to school for that? Brody: Made mom proud.

Listen, my kid marveled at the sounds of Fatboy Slim and asked me how he made music like that in “the old days before computers.” (Yes, I damn near threw him out of the moving car.)

ADA Serena Southerlyn: I didn't know you were friendly with [the new DA]. EADA Jack McCoy: Bar Association dinners. Nice fellow. Southerlyn: And his politics? McCoy: ... Nice fellow.

Suspect: I didn’t murder anyone. Det. Lenny Briscoe: Oh yeah? There’s a guy down at the M.E.’s office doing a pretty good impression of a dead guy.

I said the same thing … and it was a great line delivery. Not sarcastic and quippy … it was spoken like someone who was profoundly unhappy with the situation. Sam Waterston is magnificent as always.

Suspect: This is my son, Ramiro. Det. Ed Green: … who just answered to the name ‘Miguel’? Suspect: I don’t know. Det. Lennie Briscoe: Third base. Suspect: I don’t understand. Briscoe: Yeah, neither did Costello.

Suspect: I told you, I was home alone. Det. Lenny Briscoe: Home Alone’s a movie, not an alibi.
