In the early 1930s, German communists, obeying Stalin, insisted Hitler didn't matter and was merely capitalism's dying gasp. The real enemy was "social fascism", i.e. Social Democrats, the moderate left. They kept saying this *after* most of their members were locked up in camps.

Here's what's maddening about this: TRUMP GOT ELECTED ON A FICTION. And not on details, like "If you like your insurance you can keep it." He claimed to have one agenda, but then whipped out an incredibly radical secret agenda once sworn in. Nobody voted for this! And yet crickets from the press.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

America is collapsing into a moral abyss and it all goes back to MAGA and Trump. You’re not supposed to care anymore if someone is corrupt, a criminal, a wife-beater, a drunk, a racist, a drug dealer, a traitor. To MAGA, every crime and misdeed is okay as long as you support Trump.

If you want to argue about what is/is not propaganda about China, then pick a topic where there's reasonable doubt by experts, like social credit. I mean, a 'Marxist-Leninist' on Bluesky accused someone of lying about there being security cameras & a guard monitoring apartment building residents.
