I need some kind of interrupt signal when talking to specialist service workers, especially doctors, to indicate that I am more scientifically literate than 99% of the clients they speak with, and would appreciate more precise answers to my questions.

I haven't read a good book in a while. I think the sources I used to have for recommendations died out a while ago, and more recently the output of the authors I was still following had slowed and then exhausted as well. Need a strategy to find more books that interest me.
