are you sure this wasn't a backlot pic of an extra on a David Cronenberg or Jodorowsky movie? Scary.

if only that would work on all the 'native' chickens on Kauai....even a rooster not even much above your ankle sounds just as loud at 5am - ask me how I know.

I have no illusions that it would require testing and tweaking to make it right and that it might not work for all (or possible even most) species. But it may also be true that at least here in central/eastern WA where our wind turbines are, it's pretty dry so might work really well.....

interesting - so that might help around here given those are two big species here in the PNW...hm....

two words: Soylent Green. thankfully NYC isn't at 40M per the opener of that movie but the point remains....

doesn't look like a moth at all to me!

you never know until you try, all else is just speculation. this is the frustrating part when people 'just say no' based on no data? there are plenty of ways to test a device like that before putting it on an actual turbine?

for sure! It's just a valid idea that hasn't been explored to date and with WNS already wiping out bat populations (and humans paving all their habitat by day) they need all the help they can get! #protectbats #endangered

(ridiculous cliche, but) pretty sure if we can get to the moon we can design a tiny flat whistle that can be fastened to a blade that emits noise only bats can hear and not us or other wildlife? For birds maybe a bit dicier but maybe even a vision cue for them (many have amazing eyesight)?

Public lands belong to us all and shouldn't be sold to the highest bidder as plots for more mega-mansion vacation homes. If we don’t fight for them now, we will lose these cherished lands forever.

we have 'crow tv' at the birdbath in our back yard every day. Our cats sit there in the window, never to be outdoors, watching, wishing.... the only downside is that the birdbath ends up as a 'cracker soaking booth' and not an actual birdbath most days :)

Didn't W try to use that in a campaign once until he figured out (or John Fogerty reminded him) what it was actually about? #confidenceman #jailTrump

Egypt and Israel have been at peace ever since, even with Netanyahu going WAY beyond what was an appropriate response in the Hamas attack now a couple years ago?
