Amazing game! If you make an expansion for this it could be to decorate the inside of the structures you just made! A wizard tower with books! Tavern with tables and chairs! The ideas are endless. Keep up the good work!

I use Busuu and it’s helped my Japanese considerably. It’s not perfect but it good.
I can’t stand Wanikani. I hate the subscription base and I won’t do another lifetime membership from the creator after he abandoned his first Japanese website that I paid into.

I owned the second one but prefer the first ascetics wise.

2024 is nice but not without its issues. I’ve had no problems but other are plagued with issues.

So glad Rick Moranis and Bill Pullman are coming back for this!

I believe it will be something In between. If you have to much to track it will bog down a solo player but too little will make the game feel dumbed down. Or every character could feel cookie cutter. It plagues my very soul at this point, lol.

So glad I found you on Youtube and that you are here as well! Love your tips for soloing. Just watched your tips for encounters video and LOVED it. Did you make those handwritten tables yourself? Can't wait to see what else you come up with. Keep up the amazing work! 😍

Busuu has helped me the most with its repetition. I am almost though with N5. I hate they use AI and if I can find something else similar Ill switch. Renshuu is confusing to me and the lessons more like a textbook which I can never focus on.

I've been studying since I was 36ish, now I'm 50 and still haven't reached N5 level officially. It's such a struggle to learn and retain what I've been studying. I get to a point when studying where it seems I recall less, take a break (usually long) come back and seem to magically remember 95%.

That’s ingenious! I’ve tried to let it DM but never considered having it be the PCs. Looking forward to your blog about it.

Got this on my watch list. Always love stuff about soloing!

I’m interested in it. The art is really nice from what I have seen. However, I’m not sure it would lend well to solo play. The Hope/Fear mechanic would need to be automated so to speak since fear is generally handled by the GM.

I wish they would link payments for FFXIV and this so you can play both with the same subscription.

I like how you use normal graph paper and not hex paper for this.

What gets me is the sheer size of the decks. If I could find smaller decks that would be amazing.

Nice write up! I always get lost on what to do next when I try solo play. This helps piece it together. Thanks for that.

There are loads of turn based combat games out there. Xcom, Final Fantasy Tactics, and loads of others. I’m pretty sure we know what it means unless you arnt familiar with the genre. It’s the implementation I’m interested in and the story.

I generally use a plug-in controller and play with the Switch docked. I can imagine this might be a concern for those that play portable a lot.

It’s also got another book being released in the series at the end of the year called Brigands and Breadknives. Looks like its slated for release Nov 11th.

Legends and Lattes is a great whimsical fantasy book. Oh, and you can’t forget the prequel Bookshops and Bonedust.

I would love to buy this manga but can’t find a seller that seems legit.

And I have purchased it. So far it’s very nice and will work well with solo play.

For solo I like Captains Log by Modiphius. If you like Star Trek you can’t go wrong and you don’t have to be a fan to understand the game.

It’s easy to get lost in what’s available for a VTT. If you stick to the journal, character sheets etc. it’s better. You can still roll your own dice but use it to journal your progress.

This is a really good solo game! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Yeah, it’s all about little transactions here and there or subscription services. I am so tired of everything being a subscription now a days. Those were the days, free content to keep you interested and move the hobby forward.

I’ve been considering it as well. I use Foundry VTT right now and have even thought of using Scrivener. Each has some really strong points and I tend to get choice paralysis.

Do you use obsidian for your solo plays as well?
