I'll always love Florian Cramer on this piece in Exe.cut(up)able statements: "Diese künstlerische Dummheit charakterisiert nicht nur Shaws Arbeit, sondern das gesamte Feld sogenannter
»interaktiver Kunst« [...]"

I remember 1990s discourse as very critical of interaction, e.g. Alexei Shulgin in 1996: "Looking at very popular media art form such as "interactive installation" I always wonder how people (viewers) are
exited about this new way of manipulation on them." www.nettime.org/Lists-Archiv...

Unlike 20th century propaganda, #platformrealism is not an aesthetic of seduction, but of brutal carelessness and blatant ignorance. The power of a video like this lies in the sloppiness of its means - anyone could produce it, without expertise, without investment, without even watching it

another common claim amongst llm-evangelists is llms benefit disabled groups. I have yet to see evidence (not what technologists think disabled ppl want but work that actually meaningfully engages disabled ppl). disability groups I've talked to tell me these claims are bogus

I think early projects of this kind, like Engelbart's "Augmenting Human Intellect," were positioned against/as alternatives to AI research ("Engelbart was philosophically opposed to that [superbrain/AGI] approach", ubiquity.acm.org/article.cfm?...). Maybe this history is still at work today.
