The murder and arrests of Dems is a rapid escalation.

By the time you all finish arguing, there might not be public discourse. m.youtube.com/watch?v=p6pT...

I signed months ago!

Not if everything shut down at the same time. Heather Cox Richardson said a few days ago forget about the 2026 elections. She said if we do not have massive mobilization in the next three months, there will not be elections. We need a general strike or we may be looking at 15-20 years of fascism.

Silence equals complicity.

HCR says forget the 2026 elections. We have three months. Folks, some of you may not cast another meaningful vote in your life. This needs to be the summer of resistance. Protest, organize and strike. Unions, we need you to help us shut this down.

We need to consider how we could support federal workers in a strike. Good folks work at the EPA and they should not be required to participate in harm.

Trump has given men like this a green light by communicating over and over that our lives do not matter.

37% can dominate everyone else. This is the Christofascist base. There is no reasoning with this group and as we are seeing, they have been symbolically deputized by Trump to use violence to control his opposition. It’s unwise to minimize the power of a group this size.

It was a fantastic protest!

I think I saw your sign!

I am curious how many people have a visceral disgust response when reading this.

Why would anyone make a deal with Trump? He’s untrustworthy. Lying is second nature to him.

We need to be asking ourselves what the cost is of not protesting. Imagine telling your grandkids, “I didn’t protest against fascism because it was cringe.” Sorry you lost all your civil rights kiddo, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

WTF.

Reverend Barber suggested a general strike on Election Day. He is a seasoned activist. The public needs a practice run a strike on one day is a good start. It’s months away so it gives everyone time to plan. We could call it a Strike for Democracy.

Of course they do! This reminds of the issue of Covid vaccinations in nursing homes.

But this isn’t new-lots of Americans live this way. The Twin Oaks community in Virginia is very successful. Historically utopian communities like New Harmony are a part of our history. However, we have only begun to fight back against techno-fascism-we are going to win this fight.

She is spot on. I’ve been thinking about micro economies for a few months. There is a lot of content about growing food, energy self-sufficiency and housing. Our community has a cooperative grocery store. Moving away from dependence on consumerism.

We mustn’t forget Rep. Al Green.

It looks like there will be a slight pivot toward Christofascism headed by Vance. Even more yuck.

This is showing leadership. Senator Padilla didn’t not stop doing his job, standing up for his constituents even as he is being dragged from the room. This is the way ordinary citizens have been treated in town halls. Thank you Senator.

Does disapproving of specific issues lead people to switch and vote for Dems? I vote for Dems and strongly disapprove of many of their policies.

Someone needs to buy them a copy of Reverend Barber’s book: wwnorton.com/books/978132...

It’s unlikely to drop lower unless he offends the Christian Right-this is a huge group. Non religious white and male supremacists are making up the difference.

This may have been the first time he has been called out on anything. He’s shocked. Thank you Rep Plaskett for explaining how manners work-sorry the job fell on you.

I tried posting your article on Threads and it was removed. You have hit a nerve which means you are doing something right.

For those not following the drama earlier, it's for sharing this piece advocating for nonviolence (but not being judgy about how targeted people respond either). And saying some things about governmental/ institutional violence.

Every woman who steps into a position of power gets this reaction. Academic feminists are under constant fire and receive horrible violent threats. Read Roxanne Gay’s essay Stand Your Ground. There is an organized effort to silence women who speak up for equality.
