The obvious answer -- they're marketing towards their audience. Expanding on that: This type of AI has always been what it is. A Large Language Model that scraped the internet. IT DOES NOT HAVE SENTIENCE -- OBVIOUSLY. You'd have to be pretty stupid to believe it "thinks"... hence the marketing.
