(last one for today)
tyler the creator - igor
i've listened to tyler a bit before this one already, but oomf told me to listen to this way back in like 2019 and i was immediately blown away, i don't think i've ever heard an album tell a story this cohesively - he's become one of my faves ever since

thundercat - drunk (10" boxset)
stupid fun music, complex, jazzy as fuck & hilarious at times, thundercat's simply one of the best and this album puts it on display REALLY well
got this one at my local record store too, for some reason nobody wanted to buy it, so i just took it up after 4 months

mac miller - balloonerism
i could talk ab the effects this album has on me for hours, some of these things hit way too close for me - especially the last song. it feels like a personalised soundtrack to death, and given the context, it's unfortunately all too real
R.I.P. mac, we'll always miss you

ngl im just copying hakita he has his jakito plush in every record pic he posts so i thought i'll put the closest thing i have to myself in all of them

kendrick lamar - gnx
not even close to his best, but still a fun album, kinda just got it for the hell of it since my local record store had it
favourite is absolutely reincarnated, just plain good storytelling, even beyond the sample it feels like he channeled 2pac in the best way possible

burial - untrue (hyperdub anniversary edition)
don't think i have to say much about it, still one of the best dubstep/garage-adjacent albums to have ever existed (though i'm biased in that regard, this record means a lot to me) - also, vastly prefer the raw cover
anyways, ghost hardware my beloved

mf doom - mm.. food (20th anniversary edition)
not my favourite album of his, but still an incredible listen - as is usual for him. naturally had to get this one when i saw it, even if it took me a while, its def a must have for *any*one who enjoys his stuff
R.I.P. to the one and only supervillain

i urge everyone to at least listen to pushing daisies, its a relatively short ep, but it's some of the best work i've heard come out of the newer resurgence of shoegaze/grunge

julie - my anti aircraft friend
phenomenal debut album, i found julie way back when they started out through sheer luck and instantly got hooked by their grungy, raw sound on songs like lochness and through your window later on
favourite is either clairbourne practice or stuck in a car with angels

doechii - alligator bites never heal
great return to the 90's-00's style of hip hop that i grew up with, reminds me a lot of lauryn hill sometimes for that reason and i simply love it
first pic taken at the record store where i got it in brighton with the wives - lovely place, miss it quite a bit

vildhjarta - + där skögen sjunger under evighetens granar +
finally got my hands on it a week after release for a first listen (shipment was delayed), and it was absolutely worth the wait of nearly two years now
phenomenal album - favourite is currently between två vackra svanar or sargasso

surely i can't be the only one who gets the same impression, it's genuinely so weird to watch any form of cs discussion going on on twitter or this place because it feels like every post/response was generated by a cheap llm

so fucking glad ive never gone into that space for the sole reason that on the surface it looks everyone's a fucking robot with their chronic linkedin speech

tell me how "2025-09-13T01:50:00.000Z" is somehow magically equal to "2025-09-12T23:50:00.000000Z". it's fucking UTC. why are you treating it like it isn't.

also the first one in that collage is just the eye of rah but resampled to oblivion, you can barely even recognise it anymore after layers upon layers of vocoding and convolution verb with wacky impulse responses
