I’ll be trying to renew my green card shortly to reflect name and gender change, will let you know how it goes. 🤪

Hell yes on the Brutalist. Making a needlessly tall concrete tower as a direct analogy for your own movie's bloated runtime is very much my ostentatious jam.

tfw there’s a cat on your lap and you can never move again.

Absolute travesty that I haven’t made more art, no one is more spitefully horny.

Watching Arsenal with closed captioning and they’re having some trouble with Riccardo Calafiori’s name.

the fountain pen skyline will understand my excitement.

Sad day for everyone else trying to be our problematic fave. Azealia's gonna have to kill Matty Healy.

took my kids to see Wild Robot: a truly terrifying vision of a future where robots team up with geese *shudder*

me watching Arcane with my daughter.

This is the strongest takeaway from the election for me. The pandemic was/is a horror, but for a brief period this country tried to take care of its people. Then we stopped. For a lot of people, the world got materially worse in the past two years. Why wouldn't they want something else?

What real-world "border decriminalization" does @jonfavs.bsky.social oppose? Is he throwing back to Julian Castro's 2020 proposal to actually end child separation, or does he simply think we should continue defying the Geneva Conventions on border crossers petitioning for asylum? Does he even know?

leaving aside the grotesquely transphobic fear mongering, I would like PodJon to explain to me very slowly what the hell “decriminalize border crossings” is even supposed to mean. Just a profoundly unserious airhead.

I have no doubt that were I in Sarah McBride's position I would handle it pretty much just like she is. Which is why I think it's important to never be in that situation. That whole world is just never going to save us.

Do you have any idea what would have happened had Bernie or Warren won the primary in 2020 and then lost? It would have made Starmer and Corbyn look like they were on a unity campaign.

Who care whether I have “one weird trick” to win an election or whatever people like Yglesias are saying, the burden of proof isn’t on us! These people keep getting exactly what they want, failing, and expecting zero consequences. Howabout you don’t get to chase Nikki Haley Republicans anymore.

When centrist democrats stop trying to blame trans people and finally shut up about Dukakis and McGovern, then I might be willing to shrug my shoulders and say “who’s to blame?” about the Liz Cheney campaign.

“Now is not the time for blame and score settling” is the centrist version of “now is not the time to politicize a school shooting.” To hell it isn’t!

I’m sure someone’s been thinking about the intersection of immigration and trans, but occurring to me now that given the need to provide “accepted” documentation re: having a different name and gender than my birth certificate, there’s zero chance I’ll be able to renew my green card in 2 years.

Sure wish the Democrats would have pushed back a bit against the anti-trans messaging. The, uh, electoral benefit of not doing so doesn’t really seem like it was worth it.

my cat ate my spider plant last night. threw it up on the new rug I got from a bespoke etsy shop. I respect her choice.

sigh… Tar sands.

When my liberal friends ask me what I think of Kamala Harris, and I manage to awkwardly choke out "I, uh...I hope Donald Trump loses the election?" do they understand that what I'm really saying is "well, I love you, and isn't that what's really important?"
