It's in such recent history, absolutely. And that figure only comprises of women over 30 who had a certain property status!

It really does feel superficial when we're faced with the reality of what is happening to the women in Afghanistan. I read those two articles back to back and I didn't want to sit on it

Learning about how women are being treated in other countries makes me realise how privileged I am to have this basic human right, and even further, to be able to do a PhD. With that being said, I thought I would share the 2 articles I read today:

Voting is a right I will always exercise, but I can't help but think of how much the women's rights movement has left to do, both in the UK and abroad where women's rights are rapidly deteriorating.
