A scam caller just called me a Karen because I told her how bad her script was. I then proceeded to correct her on the meaning of Karen as an insult, which was actually very Karen of me. I don't blame her for hanging up on me 😂 I hope she flagged me as an annoying time waster in that database ✅

if ya'll think you're full of micro plastics now just wait a decade or two for the shitloads of plastic waste from consumer 3D printers to make its way through the environment. those things are giant plastic waste machines: struts, failed prints, garbage to sell on etsy all ending up in landfill.

Oh my god, if this works it would redeem the whole damn week.

It must feel a bit weird if you've put the hours in

“How the fuck have these highly-driven ghouls become so ubiquitous in our scene? Who gave them a pass? They have no idea of how writing works, and what they preach is just banal tripe, so who actually benefits from their grift?” Read Sdrigotti’s righteous rant. open.substack.com/pub/fernando...

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.

Working on my latest non-fiction translation & cursing the bastards who sued Internet Archive, thereby (among many other bad things) reducing my usefulness to both author and publisher by blocking access to books that I need for fact-checking & that will mostly b impossible 2 get hold of in Norway.

A revered and trailblazing indie publisher, more than worthy of a follow. What are you waiting for?

Rachel Ferguson was a great writer, the first woman to write a coumn for Punch, and a terrific snob. Her novel The Brontes Went To Woolworths is remarkable. Here she is on the suffragette Emily Davidson.

I'm announcing my own strategic partnership with OpenAI, and my strategy consists of never using their stupid product

Local politics can radicalize you beyond your wildest imaginings

"I promise, America will soon be the Cybertruck of countries—uglier than you could have imagined, built for rich chuds, borderline inoperable, and on fire."

Good news for once!

He's done it! Hannan has found a way to unite the Middle East!

Crockett: "If feels as if y'all have just decided that y'all are gonna castrate your constitutional duty & hand it over to someone who was unelected. It doesn't matter how many cheerleaders he had on the field campaigning for him. That doesn't mean he gets to go in and sit atop any of our agencies"

It's not a demolition site it's a mass grave. It's not a demolition site it's a crime scene. It's not a demolition site its a homeland. It's not a demolition site it's Palestine. It's not a demolition site it's a genocide.

Oh so now they want to take Gaza, because the whole planet is real estate and rich people get to own whatever they like, and never mind the people living there.

Daily Beast coming out swinging like this means something beautiful and real for this country's independent media. www.thedailybeast.com/yes-its-a-co...

Netanyahu looking like all his genocidal Christmases have come at once thanks to Satsuma Claus. What a fucking horrifying repeat of the last century this is.

Wow. Interesting categories in today’s Connections.

Now the whole country gets the experience of what it's like when private equity buys the place you work

if you’re 25 years old with control of the entire treasury system and you don’t delete every student debt file, you are the biggest loser the world has ever seen

I fear that poll might end up as a zombie statistic. Keep this in your back pocket when you see it in the wild. A stick to beat the youth.

Read this. It is hilarious and splendidly, eloquently, righteously indignant about the State of Things AI.
