¡Silvia Federici viene a Puerto Rico!

“Words are nomads; bad poetry renders them sedentary”- My review for El Roommate of Ida Vitale's 'Lexicon of Affinities' (1994), translated by Sean manning (2025). This was just ana amazing read, just the one I needed right now. elroommate.com/2025/02/26/l...

No book has had a more profound influence on Puerto Rican poets of my generation. Finally translated into English by one of our own. "This is a poignant reading, where the mythical and the intimate intertwine to give light into a new affect that, until this book, had remained nameless."

Elvira/Soreno (Dafne Elvira y Juan Carlos Quiñones). 'La isla de las salamandras'. Puerto Rico, 2025

A colleague invited me to their class to teach this excerpt of my forthcomming novel and I was so happy to learn from 45 young students that really got into this crazy crazy writing. The excerpt comes with an audio in which both me and the translator read fenceportal.org/year-2089/

Just arrived! - These two confounding and beautiful artifacts of Uruguayan experimental poetics (what is it about Uruguay that produces the strangest and most fascinating writers in the world?) by the extraordinary Ida Vitale in the exquisite translation by Sean Manning.

Subscríbanse a El Roommate.

“Focus in what we are building, not in what they are taking away”, then she talks to me about joy rather than sorrow, but i have seen her cry, frustrated, about so many loses. She talks at me but speaks to herself… and I am her while she speaks

I am writing now about how "spiritists possesions" emerge as sort of popular critique to "private property" precisely at the peak of the industrial revolution. We are possessed collectively by legions of ghosts just as the world is being privatized into individuals. I might be going crazy.

I am both happy and terrified this new bilingual collection of poems is coming out. It is about the intergalactic sadness that lingers after the fury, after the rage at a world that is crumbling. Pre-sale at a discount here tinyurl.com/yr3dpexx
