Visa handles 639 million transactions per day.

calling what trump is doing in ukraine appeasement is excessively kind to trump and grotesquely unfair to chamberlain et al. for all his faults, chamberlain wasnt rooting for hitler.

Sophy Ridge calls out President Trump's lies, "Donald Trump said Ukraine should never have started the war, that is not true, and it should be called out"

Even by his god-awful standards, this is one of Trump’s most disgusting press conferences. He’s attacked Zelenskyy, using Kremlin talking points that he only has a 4% approval (LIE). Then, again, Trump blames him & Ukraine for starting the war. THEY. WERE. FUCKING. INVADED.

Think solar farms are bad for nature? Think again. Those designed for nature in East Anglia are teeming with birdlife - including threatened species. A new study reveals why. ⤵️ @eastangliabylines.co.uk

These f**king idiots

I cant understand why Israel is in shock at the state of the released captives, while Gaza has been knowingly starved for the last 500 days. Aid trucks have been stopped. Everyone in Gaza has been starved, and that includes hostages. Its a policy of the Israeli govt. They are starving their own.

Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt

🚨 WHOA!!! Sen. Whitehouse: Mark my words. This Patel guy will come back to haunt you. Every piece of evidence shows that.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall @hughfw.bsky.social takes on Nandos "Nandos make claims on their website that they're an environmentally responsible ethical brand" "They're buying huge amount of chicken from farms on the River Wye that are destroying life on the river"

'biodiversity' now being flagged by US federal government. Every day brings humanity to new absolute lows.

Im sure people dont like the look of wind farms and solar farms. But really- is it environmentally absolutely anything compared to a devastated ecosystem and communities that will take generations to repair, if ever? Oil is a horrific, antiquated power source we need to drop now and forever.

You often hear 'the future of Gaza cannot involve Hamas' as if the removal of the named organisation will also remove the political reality that created it. You cannot erase the fact of the destruction of a people and a place, by simply removing the name. The anger of the injustice remains.

This is a really powerful and sobering piece by a UK surgeon who spent time in Gaza. 'In my view, the genocide in Gaza is the quintessential test of the moral courage of leaders in the 21st century – and so far, ours have failed.' www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

In 1959 police were called to a segregated library in South Carolina when a young Ronald McNair refused to leave without his science book. He was just 9 years old. (Obvs this image was taken a few years later!)

“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.” Diary of Anne Frank January 13, 1943

The scale of the destruction in Rafah Gaza is staggering. How many US bombs does this take. Imagine the scale of the bombing, the noise, the horror of it. Paid for and supported by the west including Starmer. Shame on us.

This thread is really, really worth reading.
