It strikes me that the only time when humanity at large will act on climate change, is when the climate breaks down. But at that point, it will be too late. We will continue driving into the wall until we hit the wall and then the car will be broken.

We’re actually in the position where Labour are slashing projects created by the tories. Where Labour are worse than the tories at the environment. Frankly shameful.

Maybe the point is that, he’s talking to the EU on adult terms again, and doing deals- anything. Just normalising. And the reaction from the right wing press shows why tiny steps is important. Bigger deals can come later.

Does the megalomaniac war monger democratic country invader psychopath want peace? Who could possibly say.

Such a lightweight as chief political correspondent. Cannot even hold a candle to his great predecessor. Off to Reform soon no doubt.

Were doomed to watch Starmer trying to beat Reform by trying to become ever more like Reform. Can someone teach the man politics please. Political parties are different, they appeal to different people for different things, and thats a good thing. Not everyone wants to vote Reform.

Extend that then- why don’t all important elements of an ecosystem have rights.
comment in response to post
Absolutely this. But will Starmer do it? I just can’t see it. He seems quite at home edging ever further right.

Terrifying. I’ve noticed this in a different way. You can leave a window open, at night, in a bedroom for eg, with the light on, and when you come back hours later, there are almost no insects in the room. It used to be that the room would fill up with insects. I live in the countryside.

Totally humiliating at this point. Our ex Bank of England governer Carney showing the world how to stand up to Trump while we just kiss ass.

Well I’m going to stick my neck out and suggest it might be worth checking if a trans child is autistic, and therefore might be confusing feelings of disconnection caused by autism, with the desire to change sex. Because getting this wrong could be damaging. Doesn’t it protect the child?

How is it in any way legal for a billionaire to give away millions to the public to swing an election? I genuinely don’t understand how US democracy is so poor.

No one seems to have explained to Starmer how trade wars work. Everyone else gets it, the EU China, Canada etc. we do the opposite and offer things in exchange for tariffs? We look pathetic, and Trump doesnt respect it.
