I feel like a lot of the 2000s pop punk bands deffo went that way (paramore,FoB,PATD etc.) But I feel like for some of them it was finding more ways to express themselves musically. Plus you definitely get some bangers (last of the real ones- FoB, hard times or ain't it fun- paramore)
