I talk a lot about MCAS and TTRPGs. Canadian-Australian living in Alberta. Probably won't follow you if you're American. I get enough of that on every other social platform. Occasional Christian-posting. Occasional Ace-posting.

Tell me about a time you thought, "Somebody should really do something about that", and then you realised, "Hang on! I can do something about that!"

Last week I finally saw more of the shape of my fashion school trauma and uhhhhh IT'S BIG. IT'S REAL BIG.

Some of yall never listened to the Black Eyes Peas and asked “What’s wrong with the world mama? People acting like they ain’t got no mamas?” And it shows. Your iPod Classic misses you.

If you're an American millennial or Gen-Zer, the people at Run for Something wanna help you do just that! runforsomething.net

I did this in Canada too! Not specifically planning and zoning, but it is a city position with a housing focus. And it's one of my favourite things ever, I get to see tangible impact up close. Incredible payoff for the amount of hours I invest in something.

Keep an eye out for openings on your local planning and zoning boards as well. Many of them are appointed and have trouble finding enough volunteers to fill the seats! 🇺🇸

I have music from the Esmeralda ballet variation stuck in my head because I just watched a tiktok of somebody doing it in a crocodile suit.

I always feel very “King of the castle King of the castle” when I get the back section of the bus to myself lmao

When you have MCAS, indoor air quality is important. Any scent or smoke can cause full blown reactions I’ve got 4 HEPAs in tiny 500sq foot space, so my particulate matter (PMs) are usually zero. Unfortunately I’ve got a neighbour who is doing something I can’t figure out… tonight PMs went to 53 😭

One time my Granddad bought my Grandma a drill press for her birthday, which was kinda for her but honestly more for him. So now we give each other "drill press" gifts sometimes in our family, like my sister giving me a book that she also wants to read.

“The wars being fought today involve several regions of the world, but the weapons with which they are fought are produced in entirely different regions - in those same regions that then refuse and turn away the refugees who have been generated by those weapons.” - Pope Francis

Always pay attention on stfu Fridays. Also don't take your phone to protests, don't wear identifying jewelry, ignore the bricks, and don't go into places where you can be easily kettled. Know the difference between a rally, a march, and a protest. Download Signal and use it.

cw exercise Just tried doing a 10 minute yoga routine from Cole Chance at Yogatx, and ooof it was a bit too much. I used to be able to just bang out a 20 minute routine before the pandemic but now I am thoroughly deconditioned and have a chronic illness. . .

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."

My time has come!! Also, sorry COBS, going to send all my squeaky violin students to do this (2nd finger) challenge 😂

Private bookmarks is a feed that lets you save bookmarks privately. Nobody knows what you bookmarked and you'll stop leaving those red pins 📌 all over Bluesky. 🧵 This thread explains how to use it 🧵

We know UBI works. We know it is actually cost effective. We don't need more trials and experiments, we need implementation.

Ok BUCKLE UP. I just learned about Catholic Nun Megan Rice, who at age 82 got arrested for spray painting anti-war slogans on a nuclear enrichment facility. It’s never too late to learn how to spray paint, people. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan_R...

Always a big week for me when lidl brings back out the tiny little daffodils.

Australia. Parrots, just frickin parrots laying about EVERYWHERE.

It can be frustrating to hear “I don’t know” or “we don’t have a good treatment for that.” I’ve been there myself as a patient and it really sucks. It’s human nature to not accept that and want someone to give you answers and cures. That’s how medical grifts are such a massively profitable industry.

this haptic display absolutely rocks. basketball is for everyone.

fellas, you can take selfies with baked goods instead of dead animals if you want to

Do y'all ever think about how many human-hours get wasted because individuals have to drive cars everywhere. . . we could be out here working on craft projects on trains and busses while one person in every 50 drives, but noooo we all need to keep our eyes on the road.

It would really help if the cisses spoke up for us! If nothing else, it helps with court challenges.

Life is going to get so much better once I can find a reliable way for me to get rid of fragrance in fabric and paper. I just need time and disposable income to mess around with activated charcoal and Nellie's laundry brightener.

Humanity: this is a computing machine. It was originally developed by women and gays. It runs entirely on mathematics, and can solve problems at such a rate that it can be used to process any kind of information. Tech bros: sure but what if instead, we made one that just GUESSED things

A thousand curses upon the people who developed laundry fragrance.

Anyways I think maybe adults need to be prescribed skin-to-skin contact as well. We are TOUCH STARVED.

Good thread.
